Luftwaffe. The German airforce. It was led by Herman Goering. Although it was larger than the Royal Air Force it was not well led. Goering was a poor tactical leader and really did not understand the way to fight a modern war. In the Battle of Britain the fact that the Luftwaffe only had 30 minutes of flying time due to the problems of fuel the size advantage was lost.
