Well, baseball season in the US has begun again. As for Japanese baseball, I admit I have not been following it, or Shinjo, for a long time. As for my own website, I will probably not be updating it again. I still think Shinjo is a great person and I love his spirit, but I guess my interest in baseball has faded..? I did have a cool Shinjo experience this past summer when I went to Japan for two weeks, however. I got a glimpse of what Japanese people think of Shinjo. My host sister thought he was a dork, not in a bad way necessarily, like a cute dork, and told me that he dressed up as Spiderman when the movie came out (hehe~). Also, one night her dad was watching baseball on TV and Shinjo's team happened to be playing! I got to see Shinjo go up to bat one last time.. kind of like saying goodbye to him or realizing that I had to be in another country to see him... I can't express it well, perhaps, but it was a good experience.
Additionally, a few months ago I hosted a three Japanese educators, who were visiting my high school, for dinner. One of the women loved Shinjo! It was so cute and it was fun to see someone else so enthusiastic about him. I showed her my Shinjo armbands and the baseball he threw to me and she was very excited. ....Ah, I want to see Shinjo again, I think =/
For now, I am busy with my junior year- SATs and ACTs, college prep, and rigorous courses. I want to get into a good school and get good grades for many reasons, and also because I hope to get a merit scholarship for studying abroad ;) Anyway, if I receive any sort of feedback from Shinjo fans and/or I find some time to look into some current Shinjo events, perhaps I will be re-inspired to work on the site ^_^ Sono toki made.. sayonara! ki wo tsukete minna-san~ |
