Inspiration
When I accepted the responsibility for writing Inspiration Corner I had a vision which probably didn’t match that of APBH Board Member’s. It wasn’t that I was willing or trying to inspire the readership, it was that God would inspire me.
I’ve been very blessed in writing for Page Break. Every month I’ve been inspired to write each article. Some have flown so easily and effortlessly that I honestly feel like the Lord wrote it for me.
This month I struggled terribly. I was getting a word but the writing wasn’t flowing as usual. As I studied the Word of God it became more and more apparent that the message I was getting from God wasn’t for the readership. The message was for me personally and it was something I was going to have to deal with. Suddenly I found myself with no article and no inspiration for Inspiration Corner.
This morning a friend came and spoke prophetically about my problem. God answered some questions that were nagging at me about the near future and suddenly I found myself inspired once again, to write this article.
My inspiration is this; I really don’t want to do anything without God.
Sure I could write without God, but to what end? Who would benefit from anything that I might have to say? I don’t know my audience. I don’t know what is going on in your lives. I don’t know your needs.
God does.
Having a heart to serve God and to glorify Him in everything I do, means that I am willing to give up my own opinions and desires to do what He wants to do.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
It isn’t unreasonable if you believe that God has your best interest at heart. This month God was more interested in my welfare and wellbeing than He was in Inspiration Corner. The one thing that frees up a person to serve God blindly is the faith that God loves you more than what you can do for Him.
God loves me more than anything I can do for Him.
What inspires me is His great love. Love for you and knowing that He chooses to use people to touch people, through words and deeds. There is nothing quite as pleasing as to be used of God to help your fellow man. When people respond to God, the Holy Spirit flows like a river of living waters. That flow touches the lives of God’s servants, producing joy unspeakable, so that we will know without a doubt that the Lord God almighty Himself loves you and abides richly in you.
Get used just one time by God in this manner and you will find yourself yearning for God to do it again.
