Silver Spring Revitalization
July-August 2001
Those of us who live, work or travel in the downtown Silver Spring area are aware of the significant building and renovation projects that dot the area. There are regular new starts and, as is common with construction projects, progress often seems oh so slow. From the relatively small project of renovating the lobby of our apartment building at 8708 First Avenue to the massive Discovery building, there are projects such as American Film Institute, a new District Count and numerous commercial office building facelifts to keep our gaze uplifted as well as to the ground watching for debris and closed sidewalks. Here are some photos of what we saw in July and August.
