The days of flowing plains and rolling hills are long gone
for the unicorn clan. Their once magnificent horses of old are now extinct or
unusable as beast of war or burden. The Unicorn Clan saw this plight coming
long ago and took measures then to secure their clans proud history of mounted
soldiers. Indeed they are the only mounted soldiers in existence now. Their
flesh and bone mounts now replaced by wood, metal, and leather constructs. It
is a rare art to create such a steed and only Unicorn Clan Warrior is capable of
such craft. They train on the barren wastelands that surround their mobile
fortress of a city. Bound by a blend of elemental spirits their mounts are
infused with a life unlike normal constructs. The rumble of the thundering herd
can be felt for miles when the Unicorn Calvary is on the move. The old weapon
of choice the lance has been set aside in place of a new era and a new foe. The
Unicorn Clan Warrior wields the Dai Tsuchi in battle and woe to any set upon by
the charge.
- Imbue Elements 1st level a Unicorn Clan
Warrior learns to craft her faithful steed. These creatures are *effigies
of long dead creatures though most prefer a horse as their choice. It is not
unheard for powerful general to have even more powerful creatures
commissioned. She also gains the bonus feat Mounted Combat.
*Complete Arcane page 152, The mounts HD may be upgraded by
paying 1000 gold per additional HD. This will never change the size of the mount. The effigy cannot
have HD higher than the Unicorn Clan Warriors level.
- Faithful Stride at 2nd level a Unicorn Clan
Warrior has learned to navigate the harsh lands that comprise the world they
now live in. They may charge and run though difficult terrain at no penalty.
They have also bonded with the creature they have created and may now add
their Unicorn Clan Warrior level to ride checks.
- Charge of the Unicorn at 3rd level a Unicorn
Clan Warrior has learned to wield the Dai Tsuchi while mounted. They now
treat the Dai Tsuchi as a lance when using it mounted (Double Damage on
Charge or triple with Spirited Charge). She also gains Ride by Attack and Spirited Charge as bonus feats.
- Seeker of the Plains at 5th level a Unicorn
Clan Warrior has nearly mastered the art of controlling her steed in combat an
no longer needed to make ride checks for her mount to attack as part of a full
attack action.
- Breed of Might at 6th level a Unicorn Clan
Warrior has learned to use her mounts speed to its fullest of the battlefield
and on any round she takes not other action than a double move or a full run
she gains a dodge bonus to her armor class equally to +1 for every 3 Unicorn
Clan Warrior levels. She also gains the bonus feat Trample.
- Ground to Saddle at 8th level a Unicorn Clan
Warrior can now quick mount her steed DC 10 Ride instead of DC 20 Ride. She
may also quick dismount DC 10 Ride instead of DC 20 Ride. As part of a charge
or a move action ending in an attack the rider may dismount as part of the
attack.
- Trod on Red Ground at 10th level a Unicorn
Clan Warrior is fast becoming a deadly force on the field of battle. She
gains the Calvary Charge Tactic Feat (Complete Warrior). She may now also
petition her lord for a non-animal type mount though this request may be
refused if the Unicorn Clan Warrior is not in favor with her lord.
- Slay the Enemy at 12th level a Unicorn Clan
Warrior is a war machine from the back of her faithful steed. She may not be
dismounted unless she is dead against her will. She gains the use of both
cleave and great cleave feat while she is mounted. She may also make a full
attack action at the end of a charge including her mount 1 per day for every 6
levels of Unicorn Clan Warrior.
