(64) Evil DM: GAME ON -=No OCC Past this point=- SESSION 6 (GANGS ALL HERE!! MOSTLY...)
When we last left the party they group was crowded around a very ornate wooden box. Mitsuki after handling the box a few moments prior managed to open it with a light click the lid lifted slightly.
** (79) Sahato was trying to see what it was. **
Inside the box is the life-like and life sized figure of a silver and ebony raven.
(79) Sahato: "Oh how nice."
** (50) Yoshiaki simply nods **
(79) Sahato: "I wonder why it was where I found it though."
** (74) Mitsuki looks at it, "why would they keep tihs in a room they'd bring you to?" **
(79) Sahato: "I have no idea. It was a very simple room too.'
(50) Yoshiaki: " maybe it is a trap "
** (79) Sahato thinks **
(79) Sahato: "I don't... Think a trap, but a watcher maybe?"
(50) Yoshiaki: " after all the thugs they left to deal with you were of little threat to you "
** (79) Sahato points to the word on the box. **
(79) Sahato: "No but somehow they know I can be a threat."
** (74) Mitsuki takes another look at the box, seeing if there is anything special about it other than the raven. She sees the word but shrugs, "I don't know what it means" **
(79) Sahato: "It says ...... 'Awaken'"
** (50) Yoshiaki shakes his head **
(74) Mitsuki: "what do you figure that means?"
(64) a silver and ebony raven: "Caw! Caw!" the raven says as it comes to life and hops on Sahato's shoulder.
(79) Sahato: "Uhmmmm… That!"
** (50) Yoshiaki raises an eye brow **
(79) Sahato: "Easy Tamat. It won't eat me, I think.'
(64) Tamat: 'Ruff!"
** (64) Tamat growls at the bird which pays him no attention. **
** (79) Sahato looks at the raven on her shoulder in amazement. **
(79) Sahato: "The raven wants to know who I wish to send a message to."
** (50) Yoshiaki shrugs **
(74) Mitsuki: the girl takes the suddenly living metal raven in stride, but gives a shake of her head. "Seems to attract all sorts of attention."
(74) Mitsuki: "this is probably how the ninjas were communicating."
** (79) Sahato nods. **
(79) Sahato: "I don't know anyone to send a message to here."
(50) Yoshiaki: " maybe we should get moving before some one else comes to attack, and try to kidnap you "
(64) Evil DM: Dosokoju > You just finished watching a masterful performance in a dance theater and were trying to get back stage to offer your approval to the cast when you see a group of people in a dressing room surrounding a box which a living ebony and silver raven jumps out of. You are outside the dressing room a beautiful young woman seems to be guarding the entrance.
** (79) Sahato tries saying..... "Sleep" to see what happens. **
(64) a silver and ebony raven: "Caw"
** (64) a silver and ebony raven grooms its wings **
** (39) Dosokoju Shinichi walks over to the young woman standing guard, "Might I be of assistance?" **
** (64) a female dancer looks up at the young man with an eyebrow raised. "You would be...?" she says the question clear in her voice. **
(79) Sahato: "Well that did not seem to return the raven ..... Who is that?"
(39) Dosokoju Shinichi: "I am Dosokoju Shinichi, a Shugenja of the Lion Clan."
** (79) Sahato becomes disoriented as a memory comes over her. She seems to stare into space and wobble. **
** (39) Dosokoju Shinichi attempts to grab Sahato before she falls **
(64) a female dancer: "Sure you are and I am the Empress.. Look everyone wants back stage we are dancers not Geisha... please leave." she says sounding annoyed.
** (50) Yoshiaki hand drops to his blade as the strange moves in **
** (39) Dosokoju Shinichi shows his signet ring, "Do you require further proof?" **
** (64) a female dancer looks at the ring a moment the goes rather silent.. "Umm, my pardons Sir you have to understand we have a lot of folk come back here." **
(74) Mitsuki: the girl ignores the stranger for now, putting a hand out to balance Sahato, "you ok?"
** (79) Sahato does not answer **
** (39) Dosokoju nods to the dancer, "I understand, no offense taken. That is quite an unusual construct there." pointing to the raven **
** (79) Sahato shakes her head slowly as her attention returns to the room **
(64) a female dancer: "Yeah Mitsuki been bringing in all sorts recently.." she says with a casual shrug.
** (74) Mitsuki adds a shake to Sahato, "You alright? You still there?" **
(79) Sahato: "What? Yes I am fine now. So odd though. I remembered birds like this being used. Send messages over distances. Don't know why I know it."
** (79) Sahato looks around and sees a stranger. **
(74) Mitsuki: "could your ancestors be trying to send you visions?"
(79) Sahato: "Who is he?"
(64) a female dancer: "Normally we don't let people in back but if you mind your manors we won't have to call the guards."
(79) Sahato: "I don't remember ancestors."
(79) Sahato: "Is there anyone in the city we could send a message to?"
(39) Dosokoju: "I will be on my best behavior, as I always am. I merely wished to express my regards to the dancers who were just performing and happened to see your group here and that interesting raven."
(74) Mitsuki: "who would you want to send a message to? I don't really know anyone here other than whose in this room." she turns a bit to look at the newcomer, giving him an up and down
** (50) Yoshiaki careful eyes the new comer his hand never leaving his blade **

(79) Sahato: "Yoshiaki? Could the raven send a message to the scholars?"
(39) Dosokoju: "I regret to say I do not know their names, but they were just performing an exquisite dance. I just wished to express my delight in the masterful performance."

** (79) Sahato looks confused. ..... "I am not a dancer." **
(50) Yoshiaki: " i guess it would be possible but i do not know when that personaly" eyes never moving from the new comer
** (74) Mitsuki seems to be ignoring the newcomer a bit, focusing on Sahato, "Maybe we could try sending the bird to them, it could get their attention perhaps." **
** (64) a female dancer waves Dosokoju into the room. "Hey girls we got an honest to goodness noble in our midst... Play nice." she says with a wave of her fan. **
((From that wave Mitsuki can tell she marked him as a target of influence.))
(79) Sahato: "Maybe."
(79) Sahato: "Noble?"
(79) Sahato: "Yoshiaki, surely you have some message that needs sent."
(74) Mitsuki: the dancer looks over at Dosokoju finally, she gives him one of the most charming smiles he's seen, "thank you for your praise sir. I'm sorry, but I didn't catch your name earlier."
** (39) Dosokoju bows "I am Dosokoju Shinichi, a Shugenja of the Lion Clan." **
** (50) Yoshiaki careful looking the noble over as he talks “not really i did my paper work before the show” **
(79) Sahato: "A real Shugenja? I hardly ever met one before."
** (64) Hotate Haniko walks over slowly to Dosokoju and bows graceful. "Greetings sire we are glad that you enjoyed our performance, I am Hotate Haniko would you like a personal tour?" she says as she lifts her fan to cover her face slightly. **
Hotate Haniko’s fan signal means she has accepted the mark.
(74) Mitsuki: she gives a grandiose bow, dipping low to the noble, "A pleasure to meet a shugenja."
** (79) Sahato makes a small bow since everyone else is. **
** (39) Dosokoju bows to Hotate Haniko, "It would be my pleasure to have a tour. Please, lead on." Dosokoju bows to the others, "It was nice to meet you, and perhaps we shall meet again." **
** (50) Yoshiaki steps back but stays on guard **
** (64) Hotate Haniko extends her hand towards Dosokoju "This way Sire, you've seen the dressing room let me show you the rest of the facilities." **
** (39) Dosokoju smiles and follows Hotate **
** (64) Hotate Haniko lowers her fan as she walks away Dosokoju at her side. **
(74) Mitsuki: waiting for Dosokoju to leave, Mitsuki turns to the others, "I think we should send the bird to the scholars and wait here for a response. This place will be as safe as any. The bodyguards will keep everyone out now that the show is over."
(79) Sahato: "I like that idea. But I don't know who to send it to.'
** (50) Yoshiaki raises an eyebrow and nods his head at Dosokju **
(74) Mitsuki: "he's a noble, otherwise he wouldn't have been let in. you don't keep nobility out after all." she turns to Sahato, "well maybe if we just have a name of a scholar, the bird will know how to find it?"
** (79) Sahato shrugs..... "Maybe. Yoshiaki who is the scholar I could send a message to?" **
(50) Yoshiaki: “he has the ring of a noble yes that does not mean that it is his ring”
(74) Mitsuki: "are you going to take that chance for us? If news got out that we refused a noble entry, we would upset some of our most... gifting fans."
(74) Mitsuki: "anyways, enough of that, what about the name of a scholar for Sahato's bird."
** (50) Yoshiaki thinks **
(64) Evil DM: Group > I have not given them names yet... so for the time being we'll say you sent it to the high librarian and I’ll update the forum with names an bios of them.
(50) Yoshiaki: " the high Librarian would likely understand "
** (79) Sahato says to the raven.... "High Librarian I have information for your eyes only but am lost in the city. The raven knows where I am, send news of how to reach you." **
(64) a silver and ebony raven: "Caw!!" says the raven as it flies out of the room.
(74) Mitsuki: "well that sounds like a scholarly sort." she grins over at Sahato, then decides to sit back down in a chair, lounging and stretching out her lithe limbs, "I suppose we just have to wait now"
** (64) Hotate Haniko returns to the room with Dosokoju after a brief tour of the facilities. **
(79) Sahato: "I guess so. Is there a place where I may take some time to practice. I need to do that each day.'
** (64) Hotate Haniko leans over and whispers something into his ear covering her lip movement with her right hand. **
(74) Mitsuki: "I suppose you could practice on the stage Sahato, there should be plenty of room there."
Hotate whispering to Dosokoju, If your going to be in the city tonight we could have dinner I know a nice place that quite and secluded.
Dosokoju: (whispering): I regret to say I will have to decline. You are quite beautiful, but I am loyal to my wife and unborn child.
** (79) Sahato turns to Hotate .... "Is this permitted?" **
(74) Mitsuki: the girl stands up, moving over to Dosokoju, "Did you enjoy your tour sir?
** (64) Hotate Haniko looks a little stunned at the reply but quickly recovers.. she gives to barely noticable waves of her fan below her waist bows and walks back to her dressing table. **
Hotate Haniko signals that he has turned down her offer and he is married.
(39) Dosokoju: "Yes, yes I did. Thank you"
** (79) Sahato is heading toward the stage proper to do her training for the day. **
** (50) Yoshiaki careful watches the noble from his point on the wall **
(74) Mitsuki: she gives a grin to Hotate, and then a short bow to Dosokoju, "Perhaps you would like to join us for another performance of sorts. You see, my friend here," she points to Sahato, "is a very skilled swordswoman and I believe her training is quite the display in and of itself." She steps up by Dosokoju, taking him by the arm and leading him towards the seats in the theater
(39) Dosokoju: "I would be honored to view your friend." Dosokoju says as he is led to the viewing area
** (50) Yoshiaki follows but stays back simple watching **
** (74) Mitsuki takes a seat by the noble, "so my Lord, what brings you to the city of the Dragon clan?" **
(39) Dosokoju: "Well, I wished to take in the performance here. I have heard many wonderful things about it, and I wished to discuss with the Dragon Clan Shugenja."
(39) Dosokoju: "Ah, I should mention I am also on the lookout for certain alchemist supplies, I have run out of certain things and need to procure more."
** (79) Sahato kneels in the center of the stage holding her blade before her. She is focusing inward to keep her mind and body still before beginning the dance of the blade. In a fluid motion she rises and begins slow intricate movements with the blade swirling around her body..... The dance keeps building in intensity and uses all levels from leap to tumbles and spins.... And always the blade flows around her body. Until the end when she gives a last leap and spin and lands on her knees with the blade before her as she began her focus complete. **
** (39) Dosokoju watches in rapt fascination at the incredible display of swordsmanship that is being displayed and claps rather enthusiastically once the display has ended. "That was marvelous!" **
(74) Mitsuki: "I'm glad you came to watch us, we're always honored when we have noble guests in our audience. I hope our performance was up to your standards. As for your alchemist supplies, I believe I can talk to some friends that I know. You see, our troupe travels quite extensively, and I have met all sorts of different contacts throughout the land. If you would like, I could help you to find some of your supplies."
** (79) Sahato bows her head and sheaths her blade as she rises. **
** (74) Mitsuki stands and claps for Sahato, "A marvelous display Sahato, truly you are at one with your blade." **
** (79) Sahato looks confused. **
(79) Sahato: "The exercises are not a performance. It is to train the body. And I did not really do that well."
** (39) Dosokoju turns to Mitsuki, "that would be very helpful. Thank you" **
(74) Mitsuki: "If that was not doing well, I would be quite impressed with a good display. In fact I believe I've seen you perform quite efficiently in person." She winks at the other woman
(79) Sahato: "You have never met my teacher."
A few of the theater patrons who remained behind after the main show toss a few coins up on to the stage. You also notice the guards don't seem to mind the un-authorized performance.
(74) Mitsuki: Turning to Dosokoju, she smiles, "Of course we'll need to discuss a price. Let me see the list of supplies, and I will see what all I can find for you."
(50) Yoshiaki: “the sword is as much a form of art as dance or painting”
** (79) Sahato blushes when she sees all the coins. **
(39) Dosokoju: "Why of course." Dosokoju writes down a list of supplies and hands it to Mitsuki. "Here is the list"
(64) Evil DM: You collect 16 Yuan.
** (79) Sahato has help collecting the coins and then heads over to her friends. **
(79) Sahato: "I do not understand why people keep giving money to watch my blade exercises.'
** (74) Mitsuki takes the list, glancing over everything, "Please come back to the dressing room my Lord, we should be able to discuss things there. I just need to consult with Hotate first." She bows, turning and moving over to the other dancer, talking in low tones to her **
** (64) Hotate Haniko nods her head as she listens **
Mitsuki shows Hotate the list, goes over the prices, and asks what Hotate thinks.
Hotate replies "He's only a 9th rank barely made the noble cut... but Lion Clan money runs deep... He might not have much on him but I'm sure we can milk it out of him later, anyone that turns me down for their wife is an honorable person we can take advantage of."
Mitsuki nods, "I was thinking much the same. Even at 9th rank, he'll have connections to some deeper money. Perhaps we can set something up. Depending on how much he needs his supplies, we could charge quite a bit, and let him pay it over time, with interest of course."
Hotate comments "Seems like you've been doing your homework Mitsuki, go get'em." she says with a sly smile
(79) Sahato: " ..... I'm hungry now."
(39) Dosokoju: As Sahato approaches Dosokoju hands her a small money pouch. "That was an exquisite display."
(79) Sahato: "Oh no, please."
(39) Dosokoju: "I insist"
(79) Sahato: "But ..... but.... "
** (50) Yoshiaki shrugs **
** (64) Hotate Haniko smiles at Dosokoju as she goes over the list maybe even slipping in a slight wink. **
** (79) Sahato bows but still feels embarrassed accepting **
** (50) Yoshiaki leans on the wall watching **
(79) Sahato: "Is there a good place to get food nearby?"
** (64) Hotate Haniko gently fans herself as she talks to Mitsuki **
Hotate Haniko sent a message about the room is there a mark on the kensai?
(74) Mitsuki: The girl nods at Hotate, moving back over to Dosokoju. She takes him by the arm, "I believe I know where we can get all of your supplies, if you come back with me, we can discuss a deal that I believe will benefit both of us."
(39) Dosokoju: "Very well, lead the way please." Dosokoju says, following Mitsuki
(50) Yoshiaki: " there are a few places around here."
** (74) Mitsuki leads Dosokoju back to the dressing room and its small table again. She takes a moment to whisper something to one of the other dancers, before seating the noble across from her **
Mitsuki whispered to Hotate Haniko that she has a mark on the Kensai. She's going to keep a close watch on her personally for as long as she can, but the others should also watch her. She's very important, both ninjas and rival yakuza are after Sahato
(50) Yoshiaki: "I’ll be back then " heads out
** (39) Dosokoju sits down across from Mitsuki and waits for her to speak **
(74) Mitsuki: setting the list of supplies down on the table, she goes through the list, "These aren't all exactly the easiest materials to obtain, so it was smart of you to come to the Dragon Clan. However, I believe the Crane Clan might better benefit you on these overall." She smiles friendly at the noble, not putting any guile into her words
(74) Mitsuki: "However, the cost will not exactly be cheap. I could arrange for all of these supplies to be in your possession but it depends on how quickly you need them. Is there a timetable you were looking for?"
** (79) Sahato has no idea what to do as she has been left alone **
** (79) Sahato starts wandering around the theatre. **
(39) Dosokoju: "I was hoping to pick them up today, in an attempt to get back to my research, but I suppose I could wait until tomorrow for them."
** (64) Hotate Haniko walks over towards Sahato and has a seat across the table.. "Seems everyone left ya alone." she says with a pout.. "Care to play a friendly game of cards?" **
(79) Sahato: "Cards? I suppose I can try. I'm not very good though."
** (64) Hotate Haniko smiles and says "Well good thing you ran into me I'm a bit of a novice myself." she says pulling out a rather ornate deck of cards. "We like to play cards in our spare time." **
(74) Mitsuki: "Ah, in a hurry I see. Some of these materials are not easily found, so I will have to dig deep to find them for you, but only the top quality for one of a noble status. If you want only the best, then it's going to cost you some. Typically our merchants would charge 100 tael for all of these supplies in such a short period. But I can save you the trouble of finding all the different merchants, and get the supplies to you at a reduced price of only 75 tael." She looks over to Dosokoju, "What do you say?"
** (79) Sahato frowns when she sees the ornate deck that does not match her statement. **
(79) Sahato: "Are you sure?"
(39) Dosokoju: "75 Tael? I may be a noble madam, but I am not an idiot. I happen to know those supplies would generally only cost about 13 tael!"
(64) Hotate Haniko: "Well let me explain the rules." she says as she quickly covers rules very similar to 21. She the proceeds to quickly and efficiently shuffle the deck almost gracefully.
(79) Sahato: "So I need to try to get close to or match the number?"
(74) Mitsuki: "But you might not realize the task that's in front of you. The supplies themselves might be low in price, but it will take days, possibly a week to collect everything that you require. I would be able to get all of this for you by nightfall. I can see that my price was too steep though, so I will reduce it to 50 tael, and all will be guaranteed to be in your possession by the time the sun sets."
(64) Hotate Haniko: "Pretty much I draw 3 cards.. thats is the match number then we deal until one says hold."
(79) Sahato: ok
(39) Dosokoju: " I cannot in good conscience pay that much. 20 Tael and a favor when you need it from me."
** (50) Yoshiaki returns a short time later with some large containers **
** (79) Sahato gets distracted by the smell of food **
(64) Hotate Haniko: "Alright lets see if my luck is holding out today, you know that nice noble turned me down for a date." she says looking a bit sad.
** (64) Hotate Haniko tilts her nose to the air.. "Umm something does smell good." **
** (50) Yoshiaki looks Hotate over “his loss” **
(79) Sahato: "Yes it does. So how do we do this part?"
(74) Mitsuki: She puts her chin in her hand, appearing to debate the offer, "I will reduce my offer to 25 tael, and the favor to me personally, not my clan. I will pay the difference that my clan will seek. I would like it to be noted that we have done what we could to help a noble of the esteemed Lion Clan also." She smiles, "We might even be able to arrange a deal to keep having supply shipments brought to you, for a cost of course. However that can be discussed another day. For now, what do you say to my offer? 25 tael and a personal favor, and you will have your supplies by nightfall."
(64) Hotate Haniko: Well lets see what the hand is.

(79) Sahato: "Oh a 15 then?"
(64) Hotate Haniko: Yes

(64) Hotate Haniko: "Ohh excellent draw!"
** (50) Yoshiaki nods setting the containers down " do you really think i could eat this much myself ? After all you did say you were hungry " **
(79) Sahato: “Hmmmmm”
** (39) Dosokoju thinks on the deal for a little bit, and then says "We have a deal under one more stipulation. The favor may not cause dishonor to my clan or my family. Is this acceptable?" **

(64) Hotate Haniko: "A 3 for me...”
(79) Sahato: "That looks good too"

(64) Hotate Haniko: "Oh my welcome back Yoshiaki son." she smiles.
(74) Mitsuki: The young girl stands, and bows to Dosokoju, "I accept your terms and agree to the deal. Let me just get this deal in writing, and I will send out for your supplies." She smiles to Dosokoju, "Now I believe there was food brought in while we were talking, if you want to go eat, I will have the supplies brought here as soon as possible."
** (50) Yoshiaki opens the containers of rice and picked veggies **
(64) Hotate Haniko: '5 for you 3 for me.. [1d10] => [1] = (1)
(64) Hotate Haniko: "4 for me! yay I might win this one."
** (79) Sahato is getting distracted by the food **
(79) Sahato: "Well Now I better get a good one then.'
(79) Sahato: [1d10] => [6] = (6)
(64) Hotate Haniko: "Maybe we should eat... first she says looking at the food.. ohh a 6 thats 11 for you would you care to hold at 3 cards or the odds..?"
** (39) Dosokoju smiles and writes out 2 copies of the agreement, and signs them both, sealing them with his signet wing and wax. "I would, but I must get to the Dragon Shugenja. Shall I meet you back here in say, 5 hours?" **
(79) Sahato: "Huh? Not sure yet."
** (50) Yoshiaki dish him self up some race and veggies’ **
** (79) Sahato turns to get some food and begins eating **
(64) Hotate Haniko: "Ladies Yoshiaki son has brought us food!" she yells through out the dressing room and heads turn and the other 3 members of the dance troupe come over to Yoshiaki.
(79) Sahato: "Oh this is good."
(74) Mitsuki: She nods, "That would be fine, we are just awaiting a response to a message we sent out earlier. Join us at your convenience tonight." She offers a friendly smile and a bow to the noble
** (39) Dosokoju bows back and leaves the building on his way to the dragon shugenjas. **
** (50) Yoshiaki looks up from his plate “he will get lost” **
** (64) Hotate Haniko giggles **
(64) Hotate Haniko: 'Yes he will."
** (74) Mitsuki rolls up her copy of the agreement, tucking it into her pack nearby. She hands some of the tael over to a courier for the troupe with instructions and the list of supplies. Then she heads over to where the others are **
(74) Mitsuki: "He has apparently gotten on well enough to find the theater, maybe he has some guide for the city waiting for him..." she gets herself some of the rice and veggies, pulling out a pair of chopsticks and sitting down to eat
** (79) Sahato gets that lost look again ...... **
(50) Yoshiaki: “most of the Shugenjas he seeks stay in the much better guarded and complax parts of the city”
** (50) Yoshiaki eats some rice **
** (79) Sahato topples over to the right. **
** (50) Yoshiaki sets down his plate and checks on Sahato **
** (74) Mitsuki can't help but giggle as Sahato topples over, but then she starts looking a little worried. She glances at Hotate, but then moves over to kneel by Sahato, "are you alright?" **
(79) Sahato: Tamat rushes over and licks her face
(79) Sahato: A few moments later my eyes blink open and arms go around Tamat.
(79) Sahato: "Good boy."
** (79) Sahato looks down at some spilled rice and veggies. **
(50) Yoshiaki: “I did not take that long getting food did I?"
(79) Sahato: "Oh dear, what happened?"
(74) Mitsuki: still kneeling by Sahato, she offers her arm to help the woman up, "it looked like you just toppled over. That's twice today you've had a far-away expression and then almost fallen over"
(64) Tamat: "Ruff!"
** (79) Sahato looks sad. **
(79) Sahato: "I know. It is something that just happens to me sometimes. I'm not sure why. All I remember this time is a vision of a happy meal with a group of people.'
** (50) Yoshiaki looks around at the large group of people and snickers **
(64) Tamat: "Ruff!" he licks Sahato's hand as she wakes up.
** (79) Sahato has her arm around Tamat. "Tamat is a good boy. You always help me.' **
(74) Mitsuki: Offering an arm to help Sahato up, she grins, "well you are surrounded by quite the group of friendly people here, perhaps it triggered some memory you had forgotten? Or maybe there is some spiritual ancestor trying to communicate with you."
(79) Sahato: "Maybe. I hope it is a good thing."
The dance group sits down with the group having no trouble taking in the free food today.
** (79) Sahato slowly eats her fill **
(50) Yoshiaki: “most of the time the simplest food is the best”
