The Lion Clan Family was a 5th rank family and a close relative to the Imperial family as the ancestor of the Head of the family is has direct lineage to the current royal family. One of the families head, was one of the cruel emperor's uncle (whom married the emperor's aunt). However, the uncle was accused of imperial power struggle due to jealousy of his influence over the court by other families. The uncle was imprisoned and schedule to be beheaded. His families pleaded with the Medusae family to help them free the uncle. Not forgetting the olden days when the Medusae family was related into the imperial lineage through the help of the Uncle, Medusae's ancestor at that time vowed to help to save the Uncle and overthrow the cruel Emperor and so that the Emperor's Crown Prince (whom are a more sagacious person) will ascends the throne and restore the honor of the Throne.

However, they were outnumbered during the rescue mission and their plot were revealed to the emperor by the allies' enemies. The Medusae clan and the Royal Uncle families were suppose to be executed, but due to pleading and support of various court Ministers and royal families, including the Crown Prince, the Empress and the Empress Dowager (the Emperor's Mother), they were spared and thus their rank and title stripped of them. However, due to Medusae family's lineage, their respect and position in the court still stands, although their honor is tainted with the history of power struggle. Till this day, the Medusae family is grateful for the help from the royal family and vowed to be loyal to current the Emperor, who was descended from the sagacious Crown Prince who was a great Emperor at that time.
