Comments: We should all be so lucky to have a Cabernet as wonderful as this is.  Justin Meyers creates a masterpiece with every bottle.  Aged for you at the vineyard for 7 years, it is silky sexy and smooth...chocolate and  raspberry flavors with no tannins to speak of.  You might catch a hint of  bell peppers if you should have the opportunity to try a bottle from  Bonnie's Vineyards - no longer bottled by itself.  I prefer the Alexander Valley Cabs (by the way, they only make Cabs).   Grab a big glass because this definitely a big wine.  Drink 'em while you've got them, they only make about 8,000 cases a year.  Will age 10 years easy in the 750's and a 3-5 more in the Magnums.

In L.A. you can order Silver Oak by the bottle  at the Chart House (~$75), and believe it or not, at Philippe's downtown by the glass (~$15)!

Tips & Suggestions: There are two tasting rooms, both CLOSED on Sunday.  One in Oakville near Groth / Rutherford Grill and one up in Geyserville.

For general visits, take the Old Silverado Trail out of Napa (travels east of & parallel to Hwy 29).  Less traffic on the old road, and frankly - a better view.  Make a left at Oakville Cross Road (Groth).

When it comes to "release" time you can  purchase more than the normally allotted 1 bottle/appellation per person.  Go to the Alexander location first, as Justin is usually there to meet, greet and autograph.  Also, being farther north, it is not as crowded.  We usually hit both to max out our purchases.

Maps & Directions: Geyserville: Alexander Valley & Oakville: Napa Valley tasting rooms
