| "L'Arc~en~Ciel"
means "rainbow" in French. The band's name "L'Arc~en~Ciel"
was suggested by Tetsu. L'Arc~en~Ciel was formed in the begining of
year 1991 with hyde as the vocalist, tetsu as the bassist, hiro as
guitarist and pero as the drummer. In June 1992, Hiro (guitarist)
quit the band before they record L'Arc~en~Ciel's first single. So
Tetsu decided to call Ken to be the guitarist. L'Arc~en~Ciel
released their first single "Flood of tears" on 25
November 1992. At the end of the year (December, 1992) pero, the
drumer quitted the band. After pero quitted the band, Tetsu tried to
search for a new drumer for the band. Sakura (drummer) joined the
band in 1993, and L'Arc~en~Ciel released their first album
"DUNE" on 27 April, 1993. This followed by album
"Tierra" on 14 July 1994, "heavenly" on 1
September, 1995, and "True" on 12 December, 1996. In April
1997, Sakura (drumer) was arrested because of drugs affair and he
decided to leave the band. And again, Tetsu tried to search for a
new drummer. Yukihiro, the new drummer joined the band in 1 January,
1998. They released their 5th album "HEART" on 25
February, 1998. This followed by their 6th & 7th album
"ark" & "ray". The album "ark"
& "ray" was released at the same time on 1 July 1999.
"ectomorphed work" was released on 28 June, 2000, their
9th album "REAL" was released on 30 August 2000 and
"Clicked Singles Best 13" was released on 14 March 2001. |
