Larapinta Miniature Horse Stud is run by a mother and daughter team - Pam and Tamar Cheung. The stud farm was first established in 1993 and has progressed through the years to the handful of horses we have today.
We are situated in Far North Queensland on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands surrounded by World Heritage rainforests, Crater Lakes, stunning Crater Falls and only an hour's drive from Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. What more could you ask for to bring up healthy happy minis?
We are stiving to breed quality and not quantity. We assure that every horse is well handled and every foal born is imprinted from birth. Over the years our horses have achieved the titles of Champions, Reserve Champions, National Champions, National Reserve Champions, Top 5's and Supreme Exhibits.
Our aim is to breed fine horse-type miniatures with excellent confirmation, wonderful temperaments and colour as well as breeding horses for halter harness and performance events incorporating USA, English and Aussie bloodlines such as: Harris Polka Dot, Coat O'Chrome, La Vista Rowdy Remark, Las Doradas American Eagle, Trios Night Ryder, Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King, Lucky Four Shiney Shoes to name a few.
