Lara Marsh Medical Transcriptionist |
|||||
At this time I am not taking on any new local transcription accounts. | |||||
I am a professionally-trained medical transcriptionist in this area with over nine years of experience in almost every specialty (see list of present and prior accounts). I studied anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology as well as the preparation of medical reports. I possess excellent report-writing and grammar skills. I love doing medical transcription, and I take pride in doing timely and accurate work. I completely understand and adhere to confidentiality issues as well. In the very near future I will be working towards my CMT certification. I continue my education by reading text related to the specialty I am doing transcription for, keeping up to date on the latest drugs and terms, and really understanding each specialty. I am an active member of the American Association for Medical Transcription, who sets the standards for medical transcription quality and accuracy and encourages continuing education. I frequently attend symposiums and conferences held by the different chapters of the association. All my previous transcription experience is from running my own transcription company, of which I was the only employee, down in Broward County, South Florida. In April of 2001, I relocated to Gainesville. I took a job as a recruiter and advanced word processing specialist with a national transcription company, ProType. They are based in Pennsylvania and hire transcriptionists from all over the country to work from their home. Currently I do transcription for them full time, doing all specialties for hospitals in Philadelphia such as Temple, Children's Hosptial, Presbyterian, and The University of Pennsylvania, amongst others, via an internet-based system. |
