A giant purple head faced him, staring at him with lifeless eyes. What was that? "It's an Eva," the doctor, Akagi-sensei said from his right. "You won't find that in the manual." Nabiki looked up from the manual to take a closer look at the Eva itself. Akagi-sensei continued. "This is Man's ultimate-humanoid fighting machine, the first model of the synthetic life form, Evangelion Unit 01. Built here in secret, it may be Mankind's last hope." Nabiki seemed drawn to the machine, and Akagi-sensei frowned at her a few times. Ranma found himself in awe of the machine's size. It must be massive, even if temporarily covered in the red liquid stuff. Is this why they brought me here? To see this Evangelion? Is this what they'll use against the Angel? "Impressive, isn't it?" Ranma looked up above the robot thing's head to see a man dressed in black behind a tinted glass window. "Who are..." Ranma couldn't finish the statement; he knew he would regret hearing its answer. "I am Ikari Gendo, and I am your biological father, Shinji." 覧覧 "Class, we have two new students in our class today. They are-" The teacher grabs a sheet of paper and reads it loudly while holding his reading glasses closer to his eyes. "Ranma Saotome and his cute and wonderful fianc馥 Nabiki. You two are fianc馥s?" 覧覧 "Nabiki! Hey, Nabiki, wait up!" Nabiki slowed down so the girl who shouted at her could catch up. Getting a better look at the girl's face, she realized it was her sister, Akane. "Akane? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at school in Tokyo-2?" Nabiki had not actually thought Akane would find her. Katsuragi-san had probably told her father earlier this week without letting them know. "I decided to move here to Tokyo-3 with Ukyo. She's back at the apartment we're renting together. She's going to open a restaurant later, and I'll be helping her so we can pay for the apartment. So how's life been treating you? Has that jerk given you any trouble?" Nabiki sweat a little as she looked at her sister. They would be approaching the school now, where Ranma was probably trying to pry off Shampoo. Worse yet, the school still though Nabiki was Ranma's fianc馥. This day was not looking good. Ironically, the 'Angel alarm' chose then to go off, and Nabiki was equally disappointed and grateful. Disappointed that she'd have to leave her sister, and grateful she wouldn't have to explain what had happened in the last (two) weeks when they got to the school. 覧覧 Teasers may or may not appear in upcoming chapters.
