Making Changes

Walking briskly to school, Ami reveled in the quiet and solidarity she received from leaving earlier than usual. Few people were out on the streets, and the noise of whatever traffic traveling on the streets could not pierce her focus.

Insider Ami's mind, her thoughts were in turmoil.

Atsuko now knew about her Senshi abilities, and her duty to save lives (and the world) using her powers. Would her mother try to stop her from helping her friends? If she did, could Ami face her mother and help her friends? If Atsuko condoned her abilities, could Ami endure her deliberate ignorance? If Atsuko approved of her actions, would the woman also try to help their cause?

Her mother wasn't the type to sit still and allow events to occur in their own times. As long as Ami had known her, Atsuko always found some way to take charge of a situation and guide it toward an end, whether it was truly her intention or not. Her latest science fair project remained an excellent testimony to that fact. It began as a demonstration of various forms of Kinetic and Potential energy, giving clear and precise demonstrations of many different forms. When Atsuko decided to help her complete the project, it somehow gained a martial arts standpoint, alluding most forms of Kinetic or Potential energy to a technique of some sort which projected similarities.

Atsuko had been a martial artist for not just a few years of her life. Whatever form Ami witnessed her practicing from time to time, it spoke of years of training, revealing a fluidity in motion Ami usually did not expect of a human body.
