As I stated on the update page, I decided to have a little look into the wonderfull world of internet-dating after recieving loads of Spam in my Yahoo inbox and on ICQ (I use the invisible option now).
I signed up for some dating sites...DreamMates, UK-Dating and the ever popular "Adult" Dating site Friendfinder.
Ofcourse I was too cheap to actually spend any cash on this and then you'll find that your options are rather limited.
You can't send emails or anything, only recieve. And you can ussually only few a certain amount of profiles a day.

Now, the most amzing thing that I found , especially on Dreammates, that there are A LOT of profiles of 18-25 year-old Girls looking for "True Love".
2 Questions came up immediatly when I saw this;

1; Why would someone that is only 23 be using the web to find a date?
Surely there are plenty of single guys out there?...

2; How drunk were they when they signed up? I could only imagine that they are taking the complete and utter piss and signed up because it was a good laugh.

Question 1 was answered by a female friend of mine.
She didn't think it was weird at all; "You hardly meet anyone nice in the pub, and if you do they are only after one thing" "The internet is a very popular medium, it is easy to use and everybody has access, and therefore they turn to the web"

Fair enough..I thought..and then I thought "NO, WAIT A GODDAMNED MINUTE!!"
Loads of guys can't find a chick in the pub or club, or at school or at work and them cool chicks are available for all on the web???..That's FUCKED UP! This can't possibly be happening!

Which leads me to question 2;
It is NOT happening. These girls were either drunk as Fuck, and out for a laugh..or checking to see whether they are still desirable. Or they were actually 14-yearold boys, thinking they were very funny.

Especially the profiles on Friendfinder are AMAZING. Most of them are blatant ads for PhoneLines or other sites that charge premium rates. If they are not in that category, they are ussually adds from "Supermodels, Glamourmodels, Stewardesses or nurses, looking for nookie whenever they come to your town" The pictures are from the average adult pay-sites and from "porn stars" and that's how us guys know that they are fake. (Thank God I know most of the Pornstars...too bad it's not in person)
Ofcourse the spelling errors are a plenty in the profiles, which would lead me to believe that they can't possibly be real...Afterall, if you are serious you'd use a spellcheck right?..First impressions and all.

As a guy, you will never get an email from anyone when you sign up for those sites.
Most of the profiles are very very similar, loads of spelling errors, hardly any pics to go with it and if the pic is there is an obvious fake. This would lead me to believe that the owneres of the sites are setting up a couple of profiles a day themselves in the hope of getting some poor sods to pay for being able to send emails to them.

Love is one of the few things not currently for Sale on the internet. I don't know if that's a good thing but I guess it is.
Don't waste your money on any of the above mentioned sites..They truly are a waste of money. You will NEVER get anything out of it, nor meet anyone through them.

I know some people that have met someone over the web, I even know people that have married those chicks. Cool..I don't have a problem with it ..However..NONE of them met them through a dating site...The dating sites are ALL fakes (unless you want to buy a Russian woman..that can actually be done)..as all people with common sense have always known.
The dating sites are there for the viewing entertainment of 14-year olds. Kids have never had any sense of humour and that hasn't changed in the digital age..Thank God for Pedophiles with internet-access...them kids might actually get a date.
