Trash Diving
. . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Every other minuet Kim and I will hear "russel, russel, russel, chew, chew, scratch, russel..." And we know that
Radius is in the trash AGAIN. We recently decided that when we hear her in there, that we are going to catch her, and put her back in her cage as a punishment. I dont know if it is working so well yet. She loves the smells and textures of boxes, and paper, and the ocasional food wraper... How ever shall we get it through her head not to trash dive, silly silly little Radius, when will you ever learn?
Baby rats....
HOME
I was taking a nap in my room one day and someone banged on my door and woke me up asking to come quickly. Somebody had found some baby rats in the barn and their mother was dead and they didn't know what to do. My friend told the girls that found the baby's that I knew a lot about rats, so she came and got me to help. I felt the baby's and they were freezing cold so I quickly took the shoe box and put them under a light in my room that heats up quickly. they started to warm up and then I started to worry about how to feed them. I got an eye dropper and tried to get some water into them so they wouldnt' be dehydrated. Later I tried to get them to try anything. They were to small to try solid food, so I was about to try milk. I had to go get the milk so I left my room mate a note about the baby's and went to the cafe. I had to go to a boring lexture that night and got so bored that I left the lexture early and got the milk and went ot my room. I found my room mate in the room and she was pannecked that radius had baby's... I said NO NO she didn't have babies... these are orfan rats... When I tried to check on the babies two were squished up in the top of the gloves that they were warming up in. When I got them out, one was very dead, another was partly dead, and the other very much alive. I quickly drove over to my teacher's house for help. We raced down to the bio department where he has mice, and put the surviving baby ratlett in with a mother mouse hopint it would be addopted. The next morning was the day we would know if he would survive or not. He did survive, and I hope he keep's kickin.
