| In 1998 we received our first LaPerm from California. His name was Zorlock, a silver tabby, and he was an excellent physical example of the LaPerm standard. Our first litter came not long after that, having him bred to one of our domestic outcrosses, and from there we fell head over heels in love with the LaPerm breed. We had experienced hearing about LaPerms with poor temperaments or less then desirable coats and from the beginning, this became our number one goal. To produce cats that had darling, intelligent temperaments, and a coat to turn peoples heads.
To date, we are very proud of the temperaments, and overall type & coat that we have produced, and we feel that many of our cats have contributed significantly and positively to the small LaPerm gene pool. We have certainly achieved the goal of having what I believe are some of the most phenomenal coats of the LaPerm breed, and have more then likely turned a few cats with our poodle-like lesser shedding curls. We have strived to have colors in our breeding program that were not often seen, and were very much adored by the cat fancy and general public. Our colors have made their way into overseas Countries and into the breeding programs of many respectable LaPerm breeders. If nothing else, we feel that we have made a lasting impression on the LaPerm breed for these reasons. Our care & love for the LaPerm breed goes much deeper then having breeding cats as these cats are our family, our companions and we love them dearly. To date we co-own several LaPerms from our breeding program across North America, and one beautiful solid white male LaPerm resides in our home as a family pet and possible future stud. He has been featured on the cover of a Polish cat magazine and constantly amazes us with his beautiful temperament, and gorgeous curly coat. We are not actively breeding at this time due to time constraints & the growing up of three beautiful young boys, but we can promise we will continue to love and care for the LaPerm breed. Our goals are defiantly to continue from where we left off and in the meantime we will live vicariously through our co-breeders and their beautiful Butterpaws lineage.
