A. We have a carnival festival every year.

A. Yes. All Christian holidays.

Tomorrow is a holiday too.

B. Did you go away for Christmas?

A. No, we stayed at home.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN COUNTRIES

 

A. Have you noticed at a lot of differences

Between your country and ours?

B. Well, That’s a difficult question?

But I can think of a few.

B. People here dress quite differently,

Because the weather is warmer here.

B. We wear winter clothes half the year

Thick trousers and warm sweaters.

B. Here people dress more fashionably.

Everyone looks very well dressed.

A. Is clothing expensive in your country?

B. Yes. It’s more expensive than here.

A. Do you find it easy to talk to people?

Can you make friends easily?

B. Oh! Yes. It’s easy to meet people here?

Even if we speak a different language

B. People are the same in everywhere.

They worry about the same things.

B. They worry about the cost of living,

And about the future of their children

A.                  Yes, I went there last year.

A.                    I visited Los Angeles and San Francisco.

A.                  No, Unfortunately I didn’t have time.

A.                  But I’m going to Canada next year.

          My uncle lives in Vancouver.

B.                  I usually start at Eight thirty.

B.                  I always walk, It isn’t far

B.                  No, I work in a bank.

B.                  I work in the travel section.

B.                  Yes, I work at the Saturday mornings.

B.                 On Fridays I work until eight P.M

          But I never work on Sundays.

B.                  No, I rent an apartment.

B.                  I pay seventy-fine dollars a month

A.                  Is it a furnished apartment?

B.                  Yes, But it’s not air-conditioned

A.                  Do you have any servants?

B.                  Yes, we have one servant.

B.                  She lives with us and does the cooking.

           We pay her fifty dollars a month.

A.                  Is food expensive here?

B.                  No, It’s quite cheap

B.                  Meat is rather expensive, however

           We don’t eat a lot of meat

B.                  What’s the cost of living like in New York?

A.                  It’s very expensive at the moment.

B. Yes, See the big new shopping center

B. No, you can there by bus

B. It’s on the side of the town.

It’s about ten kilometers from here

A. Where dose the bus leave from?

B. The bus leave from Orange Road

A. How much dose the far cost?

B. The fare cost forty cents.

B. You can take a Taxi if you like.

But it’s quite expensive by Taxi

A. What’s the best time to go?

Is it always crowded?

B. It’s very crowded during the weekends.

Lots of children go there then.

B. You should go during the week.

It’s mice and quite in the afternoons.

B. It’s very nice Zoo.

It’s small, but there’s a lot to see.

B. I often go there with my friends.

We like to watch the birds and animals

B. Yes, It is, it’s hot, but not humid.

B. We often get a pleasant breeze.

And It hardly over rains in the summer.

A. How long does the summer last?

B. It lasts about three months

B. The autumn begin about August.

We get very pretty autumn colors here

A. When does the winter start?

B. It’s usually start in November.

B. The weather get quite cold.

And it’s sometime very windy too.

B. I bought it in Paris.

A. It must have been expensive.

B. No, It was quite cheap really.

I got these shoes in pairs too.

B. I think it made of wool.

And it goes nicely with your blouse.

A. Is clothing cheap in Paris?

B. Some things are quite cheap.

B. But you can buy expensive cloths too.

London is cheaper than Paris.

A. Yes, it’s fun to shop in London,

Even you just look in the windows.

A. London fashions are very nice.

B. They are popular in everywhere.

B. Shall we go shopping this afternoon?

A. I’d like to, But I haven’t any money.
