Vanthana NOLINTHA

Sabaidee Tidty, and welcome back to Laos. Today we would like to reflect your idea about SSEAYP  . Are you ready to answer............... here we go ...........

1) It is our custom to ask our guest to introduce themself, Tidty could you please introduce yourself a little bit ?
My name is Vanthana Nolintha, just graduated from Monash University in Bachelor of Business and Commerce. I joined SSEAYP in 1998 as the first batch for Laos.

2) How did you know about SSEAYP and what is your image about sseayp at first?
I was informed about SSEAYP by friends and my first idea of SSEAYP was a boring exchange program in which participants discussed about politics and all other boring topics.
3) How did you prepare yourself before joining this program?
I prepared myself by practicing the use of English language as much as I can through various methods including reading Enlish Languaged- newspaper as well as trying to gain a lot of information about ASEAN countries and Japan.
4) What activities you like most in SSEAYP?
  Homestay, cultural nights and sightseeings
5) If you have to pick a word to describe SSEAYP, what would it be?

    Network
6) Tell us a funny/Sad experience you gained during the program?

The saddest experience about SSEAYP is a moment where particiapants had to leave their beloved host parents after spending some unforgetable time with them. Such experiences did make a lot people cry including myself.

7) Do you still keep contact with your ASEAN-JAPAN friends?
I try to keep contact with most of my SSEAYP friends. But, many of us have lost contacts because everyone has our own way of life and our own work.

8) If you can change one rule on board the ship, what rules you want them to change and why?

I want participants to be able to meet and gather at the later hours because I feel that a lot of us do not have time or opportunity to meet alot during day time as we have to participate in many activities. However, at night we have more time to spend and get to know one another more.

9) How do you find yourself after SSEAYP?

I feel that I still attach to the network of SSEAYP. No matter, where I am, I still find myself somehow connected to this great network and feel that after the program ends in Japan in 1998, our friendship never ends there, it goes with us no matter how long it has been or how far we are apart.
10) Please give us some messages for LaoPYs this year.....
Be yourself, be a good representative to our youths and our countries, try to get the most out of this golden opportunity and Enjoy :)

Kobchai lai lai Tidty for your time with us. Everyone, if you want to know who is Tidty please visit him at his website: http://www.tidty.netfirms.com/
