Dalyvone Soudachanh

Sabaidee Noy, and Khobchai Lai Lai for taking your times with us. Today we are proud to have you as our PY's of the month. I think many PYs want to know more about you, let's come to the questions!

1) First of all, Could you please introduce youself a little bit ?
My name is Dalyvone, Lpys called me Noy. I gained Advanced Diploma in IT in 2002 and I am currently work freelance. My life is simple but full of adventure that's why I love travelling because I'd like to visit new places and meet new friends. Thus my self attitude brings me to join 30th SSEAYP.

2) Now let's talk about SSEAYP, How do you know about this program? And what is your first image about this program?
I first knew this program from my friend. I took a seat on the first Lao SSEAYP examination in 1998 but I could not make it by that time.
To be honest, I absolutely have no idea and know the concept - what this program is about when I dropped my application. However, after SSAEAYP 1998 ended my friends who participated
in the program had explained me clearly about the full details such as activities on board and countries they visit as well as their experiences including making new friends from
Japan and Southeast Asai countries and strengthening the relationship among the region.

3) Do you think become the YL is a tough job? what can you learn from this gorgeous position?
YL-Youth Leader, leader means person followed by others. So, if you think that you can be the one who other follow this position is yours.
Frankly speaking it's not a hard work to be YL at all as long as you know what your task is and you can pass the command  to other PYs in action. Full responsibility is needed to be a good YL such as control the flows of PYs's attitudes and activities, rise up and share your oppinion in the meeting,
understand others more is also count on YL skills. Thus YL required self confident, brave and must have positive thinking all the time.
I have learned a lot from SSEAYP program especially be respected by my NL, PYs and others in the program to create my self-image.
Last but not least as long as you believe in what you are doing, I am sure you will success at the end.

4) Please tell us the most funny/sad experience you gained during SSEAYP
SSEAYP gave us memorable experience in life. I believe that everyone has different point of view. Myself have plenty unforgettable memories.
However, the most happiness and fun part of the program could be anytime when we are free of meeting. Then we will have our own free time to do anything we want such as sit back relax with a cup of noodles at your favourit spot and have a conversation with friends, this could happend after nigth call then you can hide yourself from NLs :D.
I cannot think of the sadness right now because what I have in my head is only smiling faces and loudly laught from people around me during the program. Nevertheless, I only feel sorry for those PYs who get sick and unable to join us in some activities.

5) Tell us your favorite conner on Nippon Maru? and why you select that place?

Every area on board is unique it has special charecteristic in it. But where I like to go most is sport desk on level 6 (where we have flag hoist) because it is an open air area where we can get several friends together and play basketball or other recreation. Besides, we can just have conversation with a group of friends. For instance, Lpys used to use this area to practice our performance even singing and dancing under the moon light.

6) Suppose that one day you become the admin staff of Nippon Maru, what rules or plans do you want to change? and why?

I wish I could be Administrator if it is not too high to dream of (Ha,ha,h,ah....... just kidding). Anyway, if I become an admin staff of Nippon Maru and I wish I could change several rules
which I might choose to create more activities in order to synchronize admin staff and pys relationsihip unity and streng.
Rather than acting like a guidance to each contingents or SGs, admin staff should join the activities as well. Believe it or not many of us do not recognize many admin staff.
This is because of lack of communication between Pys and admin and a gap between them, therefore, if we have more activities for them they will learn to know each other more likewise PYs.
And I probably make as few as "announcement" as possible. (if you still remember).

7) If you can call back the good old day, what things you want to redo or do? please tell us why?
Well, I wish I can get up early in the early morning and join my friends exercise and have proper breakfast. I confess that I did not do much exercise on board in the morning which I should do.

8) If you have to pick a word to describe SSEAYP, what would that be?
Can I put in single word and describe in a full sentence. " A Dream" is a word I chose. SSEAYP is like a dream, a dream of lots of young people to be together in a cruise named Nippon Maru as their temporary home. A home of over 300 participants afterward called family. And this dream captures picture of friendship last forever.

9) Do you have any messages to PYs 2004 this year?
Believe in what you are doing, and follow your dream. "Many life's failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up" - Thomas Edison

10) Last but not least, could you give us some messages to welcome all PYs to the grand opening of SSEAYAA-Laos.
Allow me to use my basic foundamental knowledge of think wise outside the box which is visit us if you dare too :D then you will find what you ever expected.

NOY, thanks soooooooooooo much for sharing your good experience with us, we hope to hear from  you and your batch very often!
