   Sabaidee Phouvong, and thanks for being our PYs of the month. There are many questions waiting for you... Are you ready to answer? Here we go ...............

1)  Kai, First of all can you introduce yourself?  something about you that are interesting ...

  My name is Phouvong, and my Mum chose “Kai” as my nick name and reason is very simply: regarding to my year of birth in lunar calendar was the turn chicken.

 Now I study at the 5^th year at the National University of Laos, major in Economics. And now I’m looking for a scholarship to continue my Master degree in Asia Economics analysis.

 Anyhow guys I’m an easy going man, free to share, and enjoy  spend my time in proper time with different people. I love to go out wherever have friends be together and enjoy chatting, drinking, eating, telling joke, playing psycho logistic  and game with my close friends, and the interesting is I and my friends prefer to  spend our life in million ways (we love to enjoy in variety)  and billion fantastic venues. 

   When I  ask myself what I had found the unforgettable in SSEAYP 2001 and 2002 I can say that 2 years there totally painted my life in different colors.

   The year 2001 was known as the terrorism year which began in New York, USA and made people around the world were shock by breaking news in September 11, when  that time all youth in my batch had just embarked to the Nippon Maru Ship. Some youths were told that shock news by their Japanese friends, but for me I was sitting at a contingent store room at the first floor and  watched Japanese channel news with sense of  surprising and shock. In September 23, the day that shock PYs again , the day we lost our beloved NLs, admin staff, heavily injury,… throughout the accident in Brunei. The faces that had a plenty of smile, happiness, enjoy, exiting, noises… had dropped there since then. It was replaced by crying, sadness, tear, boring, silent… and covered the Nippon Maru Ship where her house used to bring young youths, bring their dream, the dream of friendship, bonding, future,…across the ocean through 10 ASEAN countries and Japan.

    Time has helped every things from deeply in feeling of lost and up to fulfill of friendship that I had found in the SSEAYP 2002. The 29^th of SSEAYP had painted my life again in bright and colorful colors or I can say that my heart was painted in colors selected in different colors in 11 flags that have been hoisted on the sixth floor in the Nippon Maru ship by the bonding and found new friends, recreation activities on board, new experience on country program, self discovered in every single country by adventure travel (where and when we went out, found out, got to the destination, tasted new cuisine, saw hundred fantasy sceneries,  lost the way back, ready to go back whenever run out money in the pocket, etc)  and afterward mutual understanding one to another .   

    In SSEAYP 2002 I totally joined dancing club which consisted Dancing Queen(Philippi no popular dancing), mask making (taught by P-Pys), Vietnamese Chachacha dancing, Cambodian Ramvong dancing.

I had responded only one club of Laos contingent and that is Lao Rumvong dancing.

  In my personal thinking, SSEAYP have to give are:

  a) a dream

  b) friendship

  c) SSEAYP family nets

  d) last but no least is you:  find out yourself (what you are, how to live with friends who from 11 different  backgrounds, how to stand in your point, how to let people trust on you, trust on your ideas, trust on your behaviors, etc)

     Things that PY have to give back to their community are: SSEAYP productions which are active to joint in every single work, shares ideas and run that project catch up to the goal, cheers and show off how talented of Lao youth in international stage throughout being qualified representative, successful candidate,…and important thing is built up the Laos SSEAYP Alumni Association bigger, strength, and can be a good plate form for Lao youths who is going to be PY and for youths from other country to see through what an up to date of Laos, organization, PYs up date, travel tip,….    

   The things that you like and that thing will automatically  be told to your friends. I personally like to learn history, therefore, I will told my friends about history. The history has it antique value, it can tell us what the truly of Laos, shape of our mother land, scenery, colonial building, Lao people, culture, tradition, and beyond to today lifestyle, economy, social, and the way ahead of the country. 

    Active devote in both formal and informal activities

　

  I should open myself faster (it should faster around 2 years), and tell who I care, love and concern so much, therefore, now I can not have such a wonderful girl standing beside and share every single moment.

  There are 5 destinations my ideal with, and there are:

  a) Laos, the first budget or traveling will go to travel with my group of friends flow directly from the North to South part of Laos. Type of travel would be half adventure in rock climbing, water game and the rest would be tradition, culture and freshman travel

  b) USA, the reason is simply: how come it now remaining the position of handle the power in fields of economy, technology, creation,…

  c) European countries, there are 2 reasons: first , I want to be at the mother land of famous economists wherever in England, Germany, France, Swiss land,… and the second reason is to visit my Grand parents and their family in Austria and other relatives in Italy, France, and Germany.

  d) China, the reason is: I personally have been told so far about the complicated of Chinese history, and have been learning the economics development which can lead the Chinese economy growth rapidly. And in the point o traveling, I want to stand on the  great wall that recorded to be one of the amazing things in the world.

  e) last but not least,. Egypt (do you want to know why? The reason is: I want to know the history, how come she used to the civilization in past and broke down afterward, and now it is one of the destination of tourists around the world-include me too.:D)
　

  Now we go to the answer, in this New Lao New Year I will enjoy almost of my time with my friends whether in schoolmates or SSEAYP friends. I would also welcome my friends from Singapore from 8-16 of April and 50% will join their trip to Luang Prabang ( why 50%? The answer is: among students in final year are in “schoolmates group traveling fever” so now I won/t make decision yet ).

    First of all in the coming Lao New Year I want to wish all of you have fun and enjoy traveling with your friends and family, and one important thing take care yourself.
