Some Nrit poems:

Cân varrane s.an.ni zenaqâ;
Chastra sidaniv va rastnâ arra.
Liànihha lauâ pakk,
Hazdròn Rûnâtsa pvellâkûn.

The sword sings a sweet song;
Blood glitters red in the moon.
Liànih falls,
And the Rûnâ actors bow.

This here is a sort of haiku in 11/13 beats. A short syllable is one beat, a long syllable two.

Nut orrid dzanv kîrrisûk,
Nu tsan.n.e dainionôlìì,
Nut nul orridde saraxalìì,
Nu dzanv lauanî tiras.a.

My heart is mad with pain,
I will never see her* again,
My love will never speak to me again,
I am blinded by agony.

*: Nrit pronouns are genderless; I'm assuming a male author.

Ainùn dalilana haììlikxalììn.
Nu laharrâssasni,
Laharrâssasni sin,
Laharrâssasni sin,
Nu dalilanê jasani sin.

May the gods have mercy.
I have sinned
And sinned
And sinned.
And I deserve no mercy.

That last is without the proper Dragonfly attitude; real Dragonfly would be more worried about ridicule, societal punishment, or disaster if they were to commit a real Dragonfly sin, like Willful Ignorance or Counterproductive Pride.

New Vocabulary:
dzan: pain
tira/tirâssa: be blind
dalila: mercy
laharra/laharrâssa: sin
jasa: deserve
s.an: attractive to hear
zenaq/zenahha: sing
chastra: blood
rastna/rastnâli: to shine or glitter
hazdro rûnâtsa: Rûnâ actor/priest
pvellâ/pvella: to bow

The Piispirits tell me that Nrit is somewhat of a creole of some heavily inflectionalised consonantic insect language, most likely a proto-Scarab, and the delicate vocalic tongue of the vanished Simurgh.

The Simurgh, incidentally, were taken from Pii by their gods, because they did not approve of certain behaviors happening around them. They've been settled on a world covered in sweeping grassy plains and shallow seas, gloriously lovely and numbingly dull.

Some math reveals that once I figure out the participles, imperatives, infinitives, and nominalizations, the Nrit verb will have 3026 forms.
Joy.

The math:

Indicative Mood
{
18 forms (3 persons, 3 numbers, 2 voices) across 5 simple tenses
= 90
18 forms across 21 ornate tenses
= 378
} = 468

Irrealis Mood
{
Constructed with an indicative of the auxiliary kast in addition to a tensed participle, so:
18 forms across 26 tenses of kast across 5 tensed participles
= 2340
} = 2808

Imperative Mood
{
2 levels of politeness across 3 persons and 6 numbers
= 12
} = 2820

Participles
{
5 tenses across 3 persons, 4 cases, and 2 voices
= 120
} = 2940

Infinitives
{
1 for each of 26 tenses (includes ornate forms with laua + participle)
= 26
} = 2966

Nominalizations
{
Doer of action
Reciever of action
Action
Irregular: thing characterized by the action
Irregular: quality that the action characterizes
= 5
across 3 numbers and 4 cases
= 60
} = 3026

The irrealis is formed in a similar way to the compound tenses, with the Group 5 auxiliary kast.
It's used for interrogatives and conditionals, to my knowledge.
Nrit words are very long, I notice. Maybe in Kîrri when I get to it, there'll be a less baroque and torturous way of expressing things. Flying particles for all!

Nrit's official complex tenses are now done that Latinate way with an adjective and the auxiliary verb laua.

Nrit needs forms for complex tenses in verbs. How about this:

(verbstem)+(tensed affix w/o person/# agreement) (auxiliary verb)
