| Lagniappe: (lan-yap) n. [creole] something special a little something extra an unexpected surprise A Cornish Rex Cat |
| The Cornish Rex cat is indeed something special. Beginning as a natural mutation, the first Cornish Rex was born in Cornwall, England in 1950. A Cornish Rex is very active cat with a playful and interactive personality. They are not a docile breed. The breed gets its name from its place of origin and that little something extra, the rex coat. The usual coat of a cat contains 3 types of hairs; the down hairs are a short undercoat with longer awn and guard hairs covering the down. The Cornish Rex has only the down layer with a little something extra, lovely marcel waves. When you touch the Cornish Rex coat, you experience an unexpected surprise. The coat has been described to feel like velvet. It is so very soft. The Cornish Rex is most definitely well described as Lagniappe. Welcome to Lanyap Cornish Rex. |
