Critiques

Newcastle Terrier & Toy Club – 16/11/02 - Judge:  Walter Bore (QLD)

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – This one like his name is MAGIC. He has lovely balance, conforms well to the standard. I liked what I saw. Today muscle tone & condition let him down. Personality plus. In spite of this, pushed hard for Reserve Challenge.  He will be at the top end soon and we will know him well.

Belfast – 22/10/01 - Judge:  Brian Owen

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Standard dark brindle of quality, really shows his socks off, lovely head, dark eyes, neat ears, good front, nice topline, moved well.

Darlington – 14/9/01 - Judge: Rob Drummond

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Impressive Black Brindle, well put together, would just prefer a shade more of him all round! Nice clean head and neck leading to good shoulders, straight front and level topline, well tucked up, fit and lean, shown to advantage.

SKC – 26/8/01 - Judge: Jack Kinsley

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Black brindle, well boned, straight front, nice head, dark eye, well placed ears, level topline, good brisket, nice backend, good bend of stifle, moved ok.

National Terrier – 12/8/01 - Judge: Frank Gough

Res CC - Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Standard size black brindle, shown to perfection. Well chiselled head of correct proportion, correct bite, darkest of eyes, neatest of ears, compact with everything in proportion, in excellent condition, moved well, a ring presence that pushed him ahead of some top class opposition.

Paignton – 13/7/01 - Judge: Doreen B Pugh

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Dark Brindle, balanced out very well, good head shape with excellent pigmentation, correct dentition with good size teeth. Straight front, well angulated fore and hindquarters. Weight to size ratio just right. Moved freely and handled very well. Just that little longer in cast than number one.  A dog that is always going to be in contention.

Bath Canine Society – 7/6/01 - Judge: C. Ann. Corns

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Black brindle, standard size, lighter build than first, well proportioned head, neat ears, short muzzle, clean lipped, straight front, level topline, good angulation.

The Scottish Kennel Club – 19/5/01 - Judge: Liz Stanway

Hard Class to judge. First two could change places on other occasions.

1st – Sparstaff Old Smotthie

2nd – Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Black who needs just a little more, which may come with maturity. Very sound and typy, good head, excellent expression, clean tight lips, nice front & body shape, good bend of stifle, very showy, moved ok.

South Wales – 25/11/00 – Judge: Mansel Frayne

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Good black brindle, nice round eye, neat rose ears, strong head, good mouth and front, level topline, nice set of hindquarters, neat tail, shown to perfection.

Southern Countries – 22/10/00 – Judge: Mary Coble

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Black brindle of standard size, lovely clean outline, in fit hard condition creating an impressive picture, good head, dark piercing eyes, nice expression, body well matured for age, straight front, neat tuck-up, tight feet, good pigmentation which unfortunately is too often lacking, handler knows how to get the best out of him, moved & handled well.

Driffield – 14/10/00 – Judge: Patsy Gilmour

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Very showy black brindle, very well balanced, strong well shaped head, short powerful neck, good ribcage and short loin, moved very well in front but could be better behind. Very well handled.

Northern Countries – 24/9/00 - Judge: Tommy Taylor

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Lovely Black brindle, good head, neat ears, dark round eye, good mouth, clean cut with strong underjaw, lovely front and shoulders, good feet, black nails, nice reach of neck, well ribbed body, completely balanced with good tuck up, good quarters, finished off with a neat whip, well set tail, moved and handled to perfection.

Darlington – 19/9/00 - Judge: Patrick McGlynn

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Standard sized Black brindle, good head and ears on this strong bodied young dog, gleamed with health and fitness, credit to his owner, straight front, short back, well muscled backend all contributed to a very pleasing picture, moved soundly with a lot of animation, lovely balance won here. Tends to hold his head too high when standing which can spoil his picture.

SKC – 26/8/00 - Judge: Alec Waters

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Dark brindle of quality, not far behind the first dog, good expression, round eye, well defined stop, blunt foreface, nice to see such a clean lip and neat ear carriage, well developed cheek muscles, all contributing to an attractive expression, well boned, good bend of stifle, well balanced, plenty of pigmentation, moved quite well. Although his coat is a little coarse and needs attention, preferred the overall class winner.

WKC – 20/8/00 - Judge: Tommy Dix

Kelstock Nickki's Black Magic – Dark Brindle out of the top drawer, excellent head, lovely dark eye, neat ears, good dentition, excellent body, good bend of stifle and topline, moved with purpose, shown to perfection.
