What Happened
I
went to our house in Marikina
on the night of January 17, 2001
for a check-up with my OB-Gynecologist the following morning. The
people started to gather at EDSA on this night when the impeachment trial
of President Erap Estrada went sour.
I was only on my
31st week of pregnancy and yet, I'm already having contractions so my
Doctor instructed me to go to the hospital because according to him, I was
in active labor. The first hospital that we went to advised us
to transfer to another hospital since they're afraid I might give birth and
they have a shortage in incubator. My doctor wanted my baby to
stay in my womb until the expected delivery date which was March
24, 2001. We gave it a shot but my body can't handle all
the pain that came with it so after several days, we decided to let
nature take its course.
Another EDSA
revolution and a new president later, I finally gave birth to my baby girl
on January 24, 2001
which was incidentally Chinese New Year. She had to stay though for
several more days at the nursery because she was being monitored. We
got her out of the hospital after 20 days and took her home on the 12th of
February 2001.
