Linguaphone 21 Online Daily English Heriot Watt Online Testing LINGUAPHONE 21 ONLINE The Online Learning Modules draw directly from the content of Levels 1, 2, & 3 of L21 and provides a mixture of fun and stimulating exercises designed to enhance the learner’s understanding of English. Each module is linked to a progress test that will chart your success in acquiring new language skills. One of the core aspects of L21 Online is the testing and monitoring of the student’s progress is founded on proven Heriot Watt University Assessment Technology. The availability of continual online testing allows learners to benchmark their progress. This is of fundamental importance to the learner’s confidence and motivation. Each level has 7 learning modules Each module has 3 or 4 interactive exercises. There are about 25 tests per level. Heriot Watt Online University The Heriot Watt University Tests are more advanced, and are presented in 2 Levels. Each Level covers 7 Tests based on the Learning Modules. At the end of each level, there is another test, which covers the entire Level. You get to access your progress and at the end of the Level 2 test you get a Certificate from Heriot Watt University Approved Assessment System. The Certificate covers the following : Your Online Test Score Description of your level Approximate Council of Europe Level you could expect to achieve Cambridge exams you could expect to take Your approximate IELTS level which you could achieve Approximate TOEFL score your could expect to achieve DAILY ENGLISH At more advanced levels of learning, the online supplementary materials take the form of Daily English. Daily English is a unique and highly topical learning system that greatly enhances the learner’s use of acquired language skills via delivery of online ‘news’ articles collated from a variety of journals and newspapers around the world. This introduces a real element of ‘fun’ into the learning process. Naturally, there is also a serious side to Daily English, with the progress of each learner being regularly tested.
