L E C is a Bible Church
Most importantly, Langford Evangelical Church believes the Bible is relevant today. It occupies a prominent place in our services because we believe what God has to say to us is of first importance. It has been said that the Bible is the best-selling book but the least read. The great theme of the Bible is God's love to us in Jesus. Even the Old Testament contains promises about what the Messiah would do - and when Jesus came to earth He demonstrated that He was that Messiah.

His life was pure and holy, yet the religious leaders of His time rejected Him and had him killed. That's not the end of the story though - Jesus rose from the dead and it turned out that God allowed this to happen so that Jesus could die in our place! He was sinless, so God could accept Him instead of sinners like me.

Oh yes - I expect you thought that people who go to an Evangelical Church think that they are better than others? No! In fact, it is because we know we are sinners, that we realised we needed Jesus to be our Saviour. No one is good enough for God.
Through the love of Jesus at the Cross, sinners like me get forgiven. Then we want to praise God and learn more about Jesus in the Bible.
