Chapter 1

“......And where ever you’ve gone

and where ever we might go

        It don’t seem fair

        For days to disappear

        Your lights reflected now

        Reflected from afar.......”

The bassist could only stare in agony as his best friend broke down in front of him. He could feel the same exact pain as the singer. He decided to stop and go help his friend. He got out of his booth and walked to where Eddie was.

The others were concentrating on getting the right notes. They never noticed what was going on in the other booth until they looked up and saw Stone making his way to Eddie.

Stone opened the door to Eddie’s booth and walked in. He gently and carefully wrapped his arms around the singer. He held the smaller man as he collapsed into the embrace. Violent tears wracked his fragile body. The sobs grew louder and more heart-wrenching.

It was painful to hear such a beautiful creature in so much pain. Stone held him tighter and whispered words of comfort into Eddie’s ears.

“Ssh...it’s all right...you’re going to be fine...ssh...”

He continued to whisper gentle words until Eddie’s cry subsided.

“Hey,” said Stone quietly as Eddie stopped, “are you al right?”

“Yeah,” Eddie choked out, “I’m fine. I just lost it for a little while. Thanks.”

“You’re welcome. I’m always here for you. You want to get something to eat. Maybe you just need some fresh air.”

“Yeah, that sounds cool.”

Stone helped Eddie onto his feet. They walked out of the booth and started going outside.

“Hey, where are you guys going?!” shouted Matt from where he was sitting, eating a bagel nevertheless.

Stone and Eddie just ignored them and kept walking until they were outside. Stone led the way to the tour bus. He had a strong grip on Eddie’s arm. The singer didn’t notice anything. He was drowned in his own thoughts to notice anything going on around him.

When they got in the bus, Stone pulled Eddie to the back of the bus and threw him on the couch. The singer grumbled something about the mess on the floor. Stone ignored him and went to lock the bus.
