We spent our first night in Demming, NM. We woke up and drove to the Gila Cliff Dwellings where we visited the 700 year old Cliff Dwellings. We then took the ½ mile hike to Middle Fork hot springs where we enjoyed the hot water and met a few others.
That afternoon/evening we drove to Silver City and spent the night. Friday morning we were going to hike into Turkey Creek hot springs but decided we didn’t have the proper equipment for the cold weather. We decided to drive toward Clifton AZ in search of Gillard Hot springs which we did not find but the hike was awesome. After our search we drove to Hot Well Dunes and enjoy an hour or two soak. We then went into Safford to spend the night.
Saturday we went to Watson Hot Well north of Safford (Thatcher) and soaked. We then decided to drive to White Sands National monument in New Mexico. They are awesome. We hiked in and spent the night in the tent. It was 23 degrees and very cold. We were glad when the sun came up.
Sunday we woke up, packed up, and drove to Roswell, New Mexico to check on the Aliens. They are ok so we decided to get on the road and head home. We got back Sunday night around 9 pm. Total miles, 1,950. Pretty decent road trip!
