| The Rest of Chicago Parkwest Food and Liquors Located at Diversey and Halsted, this mom and pop-style liquor store offers sixers of Old Style for $2.99 and twelves of Rolling Rock for $7.99. You can't beat it. Demon Dogs Located right under the el tracks at Fullerton and Sheffield, this place is great for a laugh and a great dogs and fries special ($1.50). The walls are adorned with Chicago and Jimmy Buffett Gold records. Every time I've been in there, Chicago is blasting on the sound system. Coconuts Music Right on the corner of Diversey and Sheffield, this place pays the best $$ for used CDs in town. Talk to Todd, he'll hook you up. Music Box Theatre Just up the street from Schuba's on Southport, this is the coolest movie theatre I have ever been to. Beautiful cathedral ceilings, and nothing but independent films and old revivals. I saw "Picnic at Hanging Rock" there in the summer of '98, as well as some Italian horror flick that was just flat creepy. Tumin's Alcohol Abuse Center Everything is 2 bucks, pretty much. Classic. Located near Chicago and Damen. HOME |
