From the time they are born, even before in some cases, those who come to the Circle are chosen. They are watched closely until a time when they reach a strength between the ages of nine and eleven that is formable.

Memories are taken, stripped away during ceremonies that are as well-guarded as the Tomrack Stone itself. There are but six Keepers at any time.  If one falls in duty to death or finds a time when she cannot serve anymore, another is sought to replace her.

Only once has there ever been a male Keeper in The Circle.  An age-ed presence that is rarely had and a name forgotten save for the title of Father.  His ways are abrupt, cantancorous, and his mood foul.  But among those ever called Keeper, he is the strongest.

Each Sister is over various ages and races.  But all bare the wear and tear of watching over and using the Stone.  Her hair bears the whiteness.  Only among them is Sesian the one that is blind with her eyes, though she sees in other ways.  Each Keeper has talents beyond that of magick - some stronger than the next even in this.  But use of the magicks and the Tomrack takes a toll.  It can wear a body down and make one weak and tired.

Every Keeper wears upon them a sliver of the great, blue stone.  When the wearer dies, the blueness of it turns to black.

The Keepers:  Sesian, Tvesra, Aliress, Braelin'a, Surahn, and Thedra.
