When I say this is the end. I speak only of the RPG's life.
Yes, Orendor is finally closed and this time it's official. You'll never see the World of Orendor again, well..in rpg form anyway.
Why have I closed it down? I love the players that played on my rpg, you're all great and I mean it when I say I feel honoured you directed your rp' skills onto my site. Jessica, Stacie, Alex.. there are many names I'm going to remember throughout the years because it's all thanks to you that my world came alive. [I don't care how much what I say stinks of cheese, because I mean all of it].
So why is Orendor giving into that growing pile of dead rpgs? as some of you know, I'm writing a book. I have actually been writing a book for the last 8 months, and the story is not based on Orendor, this site is based on my story - (which I estimate the first draft to be finished by Christmas!). The reason why I am closing down Orendor has been weighing heavily for a while now, and I find it unnecessary to clog up the board with that - though I will hint by saying 'respect the word Copyright'.
I am immensely flattered that Orendor's works have spread, and that people have been wanting to try their own hand at writing a story for the world. I'm not one to willingly restrain others from creative writing and so I won't raise complaint - just so long as you give Proper credit! - or you can be meeting my friend and lawyer, Harry.
Arilenn's player (Laura) said "The very act of role-playing is, in my opinion, story telling in its most creative form" and I couldn't agree more. It has brought me the upmost pleasure to have hosted a site on which people could come and escape into a world of fantasy. And even more that Orendor was at the very least, able to stay up for as long as it has - back in March I didn't expect it to last longer than a month at most. You proved me wrong, and I thank you for it.
I wish you all the best of luck for the future. Please sign the guestbook, I'd like to keep some autographs of you all before you become famous! - who knows what the future has in stall for you?
