First of all, you need to download the proper chat program to join us in Nephin. I reccomend Pirch (for Windows users only, Mac users, see bottom of page) , simply because I know how to use it.
STEP ONE: Go to http://www.pirch.com/download.html and click on PIRCH98 to download. Once you've downloaded it and unzipped it, and automatically installed it (I pray you at least know how to do that) move on to step two.
STEP TWO: Open Pirch (if its not already open) and click on the Login button (located in the top left corner of the screen), you should find yourself at the "Server Connection" Window (a small window that asks for your Server, Nickname, Password, etc). Move on to step three.
STEP THREE: Once at the "Server Connection" window, find the text box that is labeled IRC Network. Click the box and select New. Then locate the text box next to it that is labeled Server. For the Server box, copy and paste this into the box: HeavensGate.RPGWorlds.com Now move onto step four.
STEP FOUR: Locate the Personal Information text feilds and fill out all required information (Name, Username = Your email address). Move on to step five.
STEP FIVE: Locate the Login NickNames text box and for the Nick Name box type in your desired name to chat under (perferably the one you registered or intend to register for your character). You may leave the Alternate text box empty and move on to step six.
STEP SIX: Locate the Password text box now and type in the password you intend to use for your chat NickName. Then move on to step seven.
STEP SEVEN: Leave all other text boxes empty and click on the Connect button, located on the right hand side of the Server Connection window. Now move on to step eight.
STEP EIGHT: After hitting the Connect button, the Server Connection window should disappear, and your Pirch screen should be filled with sudden flooding words. Don't worry, this means you're connected. If you don't see these flooding words CLICK HERE. If you did see the flooding words across your screen, move on to step nine.
STEP NINE: Now that you are connected, you must register your new chat nickname. When you connected, you should have recieved a private message from NickServ. This message can be located by looking to the bottom of your Pirch chat screen and clicking on the window labeled NickServ. This window should tell you that your nick name is not registered. If this window tells you that your nickname is registered already, you must close all windows on Pirch and return to the Server Connection (STEP FIVE) screen to chose a new nickname. If the NickServ window has told you that your nickname is NOT registered, move on to step ten.
STEP TEN: Now that you are veiwing the NickServ window and have seen that your nickname of choice is NOT registered, you must register it. To register your nickname, simply copy and paste this message into the NickServ window: /msg nickserv register PASSWORD (Note: PASSWORD = the password you intend to use for this nickname - the same you typed in for your password on the first Server Connection window when starting). After you copy and paste this message (substituting the word PASSWORD for your password of choice) hit enter. Now move on to step eleven.
STEP ELVEN: After you have entered the password registration message to NickServ, NickServ will tell you your password again so that you can write it down. (Note: DO NOT lose your password, you will need it to log onto your chat nickname). Now move on to step twelve.
STEP TWELVE: Congrats! You are now officially registered with Pirch and ready to chat! Close the NickServ window now (and close the window named Global, if you had recieved it upon connection). After you have closed this window(s) you should be back at the main Pirch screen (if you are unsure what screen I'm talking about, look down on the lower left corner of your screen and click where it says HeavensGate.RPGWorlds.com , and you will be at the main screen). Now move on to step thirteen.
STEP THIRTEEN: Now that you are at the main Pirch chat screen you can chose what chat channel or chat room you would like to go to. I reccomend first time users of Pirch to go to the Last Port Tavern and Inn. You can get to this room by simply typing /join lastport and hitting enter on the main Pirch chat screen.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE IN NEPHIN NOW? Well if you recieved two private messages (located at the bottom of your screen) from ChanServ and Debbie, you are indeed in Nephin! Read both private messages (by clicking on them and closing them when you are done), and you will then find yourself in the Last Port Inn and Tavern of Nephin. Debbie is our barbot and will be glad to serve you. Just simply follow the directions in her private message and you are on your way.
WHAT OTHER ROOMS DOES NEPHIN OFFER? Nephin is not only home to the Last Port Inn and Tavern, but also by typing /join ( /join ROOMNAME) to move between rooms, you can find us at TheDivineTemple (temple of Npehin), TheAventure (Questing room), EntertainmentHall (The entertainment hall), BattleArena (for spars and fights) and of course, StumpysBar&Grill (don't ask).
