Sabah Fruit Festival
At the annual fruit festival. Everything was wilting in the heat. That is a tower of fruit behind us. We took the day off with our friend Tima. She comes from around this area of Sabah so she showed us around. It was just too hot!

We visited friends in Miri, and arrived in time to celebrate Danielle's birthday party! (She is the littlest pirate, next to Jeremy.) This time of fellowship with our friends was a real highlight.

Cabins at the falls
Another reason for going to Miri was to help out in a workshop. The function was held at a park with cabins like this one. We stayed here for a few days, enjoying the people we worked with and the beautiful surroundings.

The sand really is that yellow! The kids had a blast at these waterfalls. I tried to swim across with Jeremy and Caleb on my back and nearly drown! Thank the Lord for the help of a friend who rescued us all.

Some very disappointed tourists. We had anticipated a wonderful day at this water park, only to discover that it was closed for the day. And only on that day!

Spinning tops
Top spinning is a popular sport here in Malaysia. On our trip to the fruit festival in Sipitang, we stopped to see this competition. I couldn't figure out how it was played exactly, but one guy will pick up his spinning top with a string, and then throw it at the opponant's top. It is actually teams of people who compete against each other.

KL Vacation - kiddy rides
This was it for the little guys - going on these rides. This huge mall at the base of the famous twin-towers was full of these little rides. So, Jeremy and Caleb raced from one to the next, always fighting about who got to ride. Here, Caleb got in first and warns Jeremy "don't you come up here!"

Caleb's graduation
Caleb graduates from kindergarten! He did a great job reading for the play that his class put on. This graduation occurred right in the middle of Jeremy's hospital stay, and we didn't have much time to help Caleb. Entirely on his own he practiced his readings and got ready. He's a natural for being on stage.
