| What I Really Believe |
| I felt that this page needed a little more zing, because this is where the rubber meets the road. People need to know what this Christian believes. Besides that it is good to test your vision every now and then. The words are yellow and the background is black and a reddish color. This is not your typical statement of faith page that you see on so many webpages. To see that you need to go to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Statement of Faith. The truth is out there. I wonder how many believers really understand and believe their statement of faith? Just because you say something, it doesn't mean you actually believe it. This page is for what I really believe. By the way I am not a heretic. (We'll be the judge of that brother Dave) |
| II Believe In the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I do not try to fully comprehend this concept because some things just need to remain a mystery. I had some Jehovah's Witnesses come to my house one day and I told them I was a Born-again Christian. They gave me a bunch of material on the trinity and how it was three gods and blah, blah, blah. It did not give me much encouragement so I put it in the G-file. Regardless, I believe in the 3-in-1. I believe that we relate to God, the majority of the time, through the Holy Spirit. I know I have met Jesus, but it is a spiritual relationship. I have yet to shake Jesus' hand or give Him a hug. I know My redeemer lives and one day I will see him in the flesh until that day I will having a relationship with God through His Spirit, most likely. I believe each and every person needs to have a good relationship with God. If you think about it everybody has a relationship with God, it's just that alot of people do not have a good relationship with God. A good relationship with God is only possible through the acceptance of JesusChrist. Rejection of Jesus is a recipe for disaster, if not in this life then in the one to come. I believe the Word of God is the standard for Christian living. All our Christian life and relationship has to be based on the Word of the Living God. He speaks to us mainly through the scripture (so get a Bible), but He has chosen to speak to His people in a number of ways. God has used dreams, visions, angels, donkeys, men, and women throughout recorded history. We need to be listening for His voice. I believe in good relationships. People need to have a good relationship with God and with one another. Alot of the world's problems would be solved if relationships were good. I believe in personal responsibility. To many people are willing to blame others for their problems. We need to accept responsibility for our problems, face up to them and deal with them. I believe if we want our problems to be solved we need to take the intiative. Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you. I believe 2+2=4, so does 3+1, 220 minus 216, and 44/11. There are number of ways to say the same thing. Alot of arguments are waged just because we say things differently. It's called semantics. Just because one person says something one way and we say it another it does not make them evil or an enemy. I believe in the power of God to set any captive free, heal any sickness, conquer any army, deliver any individual. No one is without hope as long as there is a living God. Which should be forever. I believe that if Benny Hinn, RW Schambach, Joyce Meyer, John Wesley, Rod Parsley, Paul the Apostle, Dez Desnomie, and/or TD Jakes is not in your community, then you are the called and anointed one for your community. If there are sick people in your community and Benny Hinn can't get to them right away then maybe it's up to you to lay hands on them. Jesus has called you and anointed you for your community, your neighbour, and your family. I believe in trying to put myself out of a job. I'm a Pastor my job is to train, teach, and disciple God's people. If all of God's people are trained and discipled then I don't have a job anymore. If everyone knows Jesus then I don't need to witness anymore. Only 6 billion more people to go. I believe in holiness. I believe in living a holy lifestyle. God has said "be ye holy for I am holy". I believe holiness is not a set of rules as some would say . "Do this but don't do that", " Go here, but don't go over there" "Go with these people, but not with those people" "Go to these events, but not those ones". What is holiness? It's right standing with God. I believe that's only possible through Jesus Christ and relying on the sacrifice He made, once for all. I believe that the real proof that you have the Spirit of God in you is if you have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I have met alot of miserable tongue-talking Christians in my life. It makes me wonder if they really have what they say they have. I believe I have alot more to add to this page. I will get to it soon. |
