Matt's Shop Tips
I was absolutely befuddled on how to break the bolts on transmissions, and other shafts that
turned, and spent hours trying to come up with a solution. I ended up taking an old pry-bar,
drilling several holes in it, and using it almost like a "brake." Once I bolted it on (in
the right direction), and sat on the transmission, the shaft would lock, and then the main
nut broke and came right off! I used this to get the castle nuts off the output shafts, and also
to remove the 2WD output housing from the T-18!
When I was disassembling the heads, I read that it is crucial to make sure that each head bolt
and other valve parts go back onto the exact same ones they came off of. So, I poked some holes
in a flat box, labeled it, and used it to keep the bolts in the correct order. And, once they
had been cleaned, they could be sprayed with the treatment right before they went back in!
