MISSION: Find an actual application of a SOFC and obtain as much
data about its p[eration as possible (gas flow in, gas flow
out, power output, cooling air / water flows, equipment,
                  operation, fuel requirements, etc...)
A commercially viable SOFC fuel cell-

A report by STP-Gateway states that researchers have developed a new type of a commercially viable SOFC fuel cell.  This fuel cell can "conduct ions at 800 degrees Celsius," and can conduct bigger electrodes at 1,000 degrees Celsius.  The researchers claim that their fuell cell did not reach the $400 per kilowatt goal, but the design did allow them to reduce the "cell's operating temperature without sacrificing performance."

Additional Attributes of the Fuel Cell:

-"10 to 15 microns of a zirconia-based electrolyte layered onto 10 to 20 microns of a nickel-based electrode"

-"two millimeters of porous high-strength commercial alloy"

-"This stainless steel alloy is much stronger than ceramic"

-"A stable, high performance cathode can be operated at between 600 and 800 degrees Celsius. And the alloy increases a fuel cell's strength as well as its electronic and thermal conductivity."
