Salinity Project on Hedlow Creek

Soil salinity is a major environmental problem which effect many parts of rural and urban Australia.

Salinity, is the presence of salt in the land surface. While it can be a product of natural process it can be accelerated through human intervention, in some cases reaching disastrous levels.

In 1998 the group revegetated an area next to the salt affected Hedlow Creek to combat rising water tables, salt levels and erosion. This project continues with ongoing monitoring of ground water and creek water health.
