My Memories of Serui, Yapen-Waropen in 1946.
This picture is the only one which I have of our time at Serui in 1946. It was when our family was exiled from Makassar by the Dutch government to Serui, Yapen-Waropen.
In the center it shows my mother and Ibu Silas Papare who both were activists in Irian (Papuan) womens education. They had an organization which was called "Ibunda Irian" (meaning "Mother Irian").
