(AN: I was wondering if everybody would do me a favor and not ask me what I was smoking when I wrote this. I just wrote this today and I’m sick, tired, and bored. Apparently, that is a bad combination with me. Although, this topic makes for an interesting story. Enjoy!) Today, was walk around naked day. Or, as most might call it, laundry day. JC always avoided washing his clothes until the very last minute. Or when he literally had no more clothes to wear. He had already past the point of wearing old Halloween costumes and even a tight-fitting suit. Now, it was walk around naked day. Usually his room mate, Lance, would hide during walk around naked day. JC just figured he was shy. Probably wasn’t used to seeing grown men naked. He supposed boys from Mississippi had a hard time fathoming things such as seeing another man naked. Today, JC decided was going to be different. So, JC took all of Lance’s clothes with his to the laundry room (Luckily, Lance was in the shower at the time and JC snuck out the clothes he had been wearing prior to that). When JC was finished there were no clothes in the apartment. When Lance found out he was livid. "I just washed those clothes, JC!". "I know. But you never join in on walk around naked day, and now you have to". Lance sighed. "I refuse to take off this towel". He gestured towards his waist. "You don’t think I could wrestle you for it?". Before Lance could gauge if he was being serious or not, JC lunged at him. The two struggled with the towel until JC finally came out victoriously. Several struggled, between sheets, comforters, afghans, and towels, later Lance gave up and sat down on the couch. JC sat next to him. Lance did everything he could to divert his eyes. You see, JC had been really wrong when he assumed Lance was uncomfortable being near a naked man. Lance was perhaps a little too comfortable. Lance was gay. Worst of all, Lance wanted JC. And there he sat, just flaunting himself. Lance stood suddenly. "Oh, shit!". "What’s wrong?". JC stood, also. "I need to go to work". Lance ran into his bedroom and grabbed his bathrobe. He ran out of the apartment on his way to the laundry room. He went to the elevator and then remembered it had been broken earlier that week. Apparently, the landlord was sending some guy to look at it today. Lance raced to the stairs. When he got there, he looked around stunned. ‘Okay’, Lance thought. ‘Yesterday, I came home from work and there was a staircase there. I’m sure of it. Where did the staircase go?’. "Fuck!!", Lance yelled. The lady in the apartment next to theirs stuck her head out. She scowled at Lance for his cursing. Lance walked back into their apartment. "Back so soon?", JC asked. "Yeah. Josh, you’ll never believe this". "Believe what?". "I can’t go downstairs". "Why not?". "There isn’t a staircase". JC raised an eyebrow. "Ha, ha. That was real funny, Lance. Are you thinking of becoming a comedian, cuz your act could use some work". Lance grabbed JC’s hand and led him towards the door. "Lance, I’m kind of naked here". "Whose fault is that?", Lance asked as he brought him to the now vanished staircase. "Alright, this is creepy. I just walked up these stairs a few hours ago. Where did they disappear to?". "Do you believe me now?". "Yes, I’m just not so sure that I believe me". "Well, we might as well get cozy. We might be here for a while". They sat down on the couch and ended up watching BBC America, and laughing their heads off. About an hour later, JC asked, "Why don’t we call the fire station?". "They shut our phone off". "Why?". "You didn’t pay the bill". "I’m in charge of the phone bill?". "Amongst other things. I’m surprised we have electricity". "I have to pay for the lights?". Lance looked at JC oddly and then nodded his head yes. Twenty minutes later..."Lance, why don’t we ask one of the other tenants to call?". "None of the other tenants like me and they don’t work. They probably don’t have to go anywhere. They’ll just like the idea of torturing me". JC sighed. "Why do you always think somebody is out to get you?". "Somebody always is. Take today, for example, you steal all my clothes and the staircase is suddenly missing. Forces are working against me". "I just think it’s a coincidence". "Yeah, riight", Lance said sarcastically and under his breath. Sometime later..."Is there any particular reason why you keep looking at me, Lance?". "Nope". More time passes..."What?! You’re driving me crazy. Why do you keep staring at me?". Lance shrugs and faces the tv again. Minutes later..."See something you like?". "Maybe". That shut JC up for a while. Lance heard a siren outside. "I think the firemen are here". "Good for them". Lance sighed. "What’s your problem, now?". "Why were you staring at me?". "Because...I wasn’t staring". "Do you like what you see? You should be honest". "Yeah...I guess so". "You aren’t as innocent as I pegged you as, are you?". "Probably not". "Hmm...". "JC, I’m gay. I might also be in love with you". "Oh?". "Yeah". "Okay". THE END (AN: I got this idea from a story my father told me. There was this apartment building that didn’t have any elevators. One day, a repairman came and took the staircase away. He was hired by the landlord for general repairs. He ended up leaving for the day without replacing the staircase. It turned out he didn’t have a license, and they couldn’t find the slimy landlord who hired him. The state ended up fixing it for the people who lived there. I hope you liked this story)
