Fantasy Vacation- Chapter 2 When Jess finally got out of the shower I ran in. By the time we were ready it was 5:29. We rushed to the dining hall. Joey was already sitting at a table. "Hi", I exclaimed as we sat down. "Your hair is dripping on the table", Joey said in mock horror. I glared at Jess. "Somebody was in the shower for like thirty years". "How does that explain wet hair?". I punched his shoulder. "Ow. That could've hurt". "But it didn't. Anyway...continuing my story...Jess got out, I got in, I'm still wet". "I didn't take that long", Jess defended. "You took most of the time. Atleast we weren't late. Speaking of being late...where is Erin?". "She left with JC", Jess hinted. "So...". "She's Erin". "Yeah". "She's off with good looking singing dude". "Gotcha. She'll be a while". "What are you talking about?", Joey asked puzzled. "Are you a girl?", I asked angrily. "Not that I know of". "Until you are don't try to understand our secret language". Joey looked confused. "I'm just fucking with you, Ted". He continued to look confused. "Oh, come on. You had to have gotten the last part. From There's Something About Mary". "Oh", Joey said as realization dawned on him. I always knew males were the weaker sex (hehehe). A waitress walked over to us. "Good evening, folks. What can I get y'all to drink?", she asked nicely. "By the way my name is Deb. If you need anything ask for me". She smiled. "I'll have a diet Pepsi", Jess replied. "I'll have an ice tea", I said with a smile. "Make that two", Joey replied lastly. "Okay. I'll be back with your drinks in a moment. Then I'll take your dinner orders". She smiled again before walking away. "Should we wait for Erin?", Joey asked. "No. I've done that before. It's not worth it. That girl WILL be gone for a long time". "Really? Why is that?". "She's Erin. She does that". "Look, Erin is with my buddie, JC. There is no way she loosened that guys pants. Even if this is vacation". "I feel a bet coming on", Jess whispered. "Good idea", I praised. "Okay...what are the conditions?", Joey asked me. "Who ever wins buys tonights meal". "Okay. So define what has to go on". "What do you mean?". "Well, can I win like Clinton did?". Joey smiled. He thinks he's clever. "No. There has to be sexual intercourse". "How are we supposed to know?". "Erin's a blabbermouth". "If she could see you now, Lana. My, my, my. Joey would win. She would lie if she heard you say those things", Jess said. "Is Erin here?". "Yep", Erin said approaching our table. "Hey girl", I greeted. "What were you guys talking about?". "Joey's cousin, Erin", I replied. "Oh...cool". "So...uh...why were you late?". "JC and I did some things". "Like what?". She whispered her answer in my ear. Then in Jess'. "I WIN!!!", I yelled. People looked at me. I blushed then closed my mouth. "Win what?", Erin asked. "Mine and Joey's bet. Don't we Jess?". "Oh yes you do", Jess said. I think she was a little taken aback by Erin's words. I was too, but oh well. I won! "Fine. Dinners on me", Joey said with a smile. "No, hun, you can pay for the dinner. It doesn't have to be on you". He elbowed me in the side softly. I smiled at him. "So...anyway...I'm disturbing the moment for a purpose", Erin said. "What moment?", I asked. I was trying to cover up the whole me and Joey staring at each other thing. "You know what moment. I just wanted to ask Joey something. So, Joey, where are you guys going after the cruise?". I frowned. This was definitely a sad topic. Even though it had only been two days...I know I'd miss him a lot. Joey was someone I could see myself growing old with. That was a pretty scary thought considering my record. Yet it was true. "I don't know. I think we have some time off. We'll probably all go our seperate ways for a few days". "Where will you go?", I asked. "I don't know. Maybe I'll visit my parents". "How long is your time off?". "Just a couple of weeks". "Cool". Erin and Jess continued talking to Joey. I need to get him to come to Hawaii. I can't lose him. I've only known him for a couple of hours...but he's the only guy I ever felt a connection to. The waitress came. "Diet Pepsi, Ice Tea, Ice Tea", she read off the names before handing them to their rightful owners. "What can I get y'all for dinner this evening?". "Hi, I just came in. Would it be alright if you got me a drink?", Erin asked "Sure, dear". "Can I have some kind of umbrella drink? Oh and for dinner I'll have...". We all ordered our food. Then the waitress scurried away. A familiar song was playing in the room. It was a soft ballad, a very pretty one. Joey took my hand. I looked at him. "Do you want to dance?", Joey asked hopefully. "It would be my pleasure". We both smiled and stood before walking onto the dance floor. I put my arms around Joey's neck while he put his on my waist. I layed my head on his shoulder. I guess to an outsider it would appear as if we were lovers. I figured in time we would be. After we had eaten dinner Joey and I decided to walk around the upper deck. Then sun had already set and the stars were undescribeably beautiful. "What do you want to do with your life?", Joey asked me. This was a deep question. I thought about it for a second before responding. "Probably what most people want. I want to be successful, see the sights, and fall in love". Joey smiled. "Me too". "You've done most of those things, right?". "Everyone but the last". He frowned. I frowned. I shouldn't have expected him to say he loved me. Duh, he met me yesterday. Or the real me this afternoon. "What makes you happy?", Joey asked. "My friends, my family, my car, and my job". "What do you do?". "I'm a bartender". "Sounds like a good job". "It is. I get paid good money and there is always good company. You can't even imagine how many people you can meet in a bar". Joey pulled me close and hugged me. "Woah, what was that for?", I asked. "I needed a hug". "Oh, okay. Me too", I said before embracing him. I kissed his ear softly. I heard Joey sigh. I smiled. Then I put his face in front of mine and kissed him full on the lips. Soon we walked back to my room. Joey and I said goodnight and he walked away. Jess was laying on her bed watching tv. "Hey Jess". "Hi. Before you ask Erin went off with JC". "Oh, okay. I'm gonna change, then I'm thinking of heading out to the bar, okay?". "Sure". I grabbed some clothes and headed into the bathroom. I then quickly poked my head out. "Did you wanna come to the bar?". "Naw. I don't want to have anything to worry about. If I get drunk I'll probably do regrettable things. I'm a lowsey drunk and you know it". "Yes, but I don't plan on getting drunk. Just a couple of beers or something". "Yeah, whatever". I shrugged. Then I returned to the bathroom and took my shower. The next morning, when I awoke, I felt secure. I felt safe. I was being held. I opened my eyes. Oh geez, I was in Joey's room. How did I get here? I was drunk. Oh god! I hope he was drunk too. This could seriously hurt our relationship. Cuz I don't remember a thing. I hope he doesn't either. If he does his perception of this relationship will change. How can I seem innocent, or sweet, or caring if I come off as a ho? I looked over at Joey for the first time. He held a peaceful look on his face. He was such an attractive man when he was awake. But even more attractive while he slept. I played with his hair briefly. I really did like his hair. It was a good length to run your fingers through. It was also very soft, and it always smelled wonderful. Just like his pillow. I've always had this thing with pillows. Everyones pillow smells differently. It's like a person is captured in the scent of their pillows. Joey pulled me closer to him in his sleep. I was a little bit uncomfortable. I mean we were naked and pressed together. It wouldn't have been bad if it was under different circumstances. Like if we hadn't been inebriated the night before. Over the last few days I've realized something interesting. I don't get bad hangovers. Lucky me. Although I really need to pee. I don't want to wake Joey. Not yet anyway. I pulled Joey's arms off of me and slipped out of the bed. I ran to the bathroom. When I came out Joey was still asleep. I grabbed my clothes and returned to the bathroom. I doubt he would mind if I used his shower. I set my clothes down and turned on the water. About two minutes later I heard the bathroom door open. I turned off the water and peered out. Of course it was Joey. He was wearing his boxers. Atleast both of us weren't naked. He looked shocked to see me. "What happened last night?", he asked me a little worriedly. "I was drunk. I assume you were also and we must have met up". Joey smiled. "This is a strange situation". "I know. What are the chances that we found each other drunk in a bar, again?". "I think it's destiny". It was my turn to smile. "Destiny?". "Yeah. It's our destiny to be together. Whatever that may entitle. I mean think about it, Lana. Both of us are attracted to blondes, yet neither of us are blondes. I like you a lot. I mean I can picture us together for the long run. I have never felt this way about a woman before. Don't you feel the same way?". "I feel exactly the same way. I've never liked commitment. But in these last two days, I've wanted to be commited to you. Towel". "What?". "Hand me that towel". He did so. I wrapped the towel around myself and exited the shower. Then I stood in front of Joey and hugged him. "I figured it was that kind of moment. Ya know, one when you hug". I pulled away. Joey was smiling at me. I returned the gesture. "Are you done in there?", Joey asked pointing at the shower. "Naw. I just got in. You don't mind, do you?". "No. Be my guest. I'll just be in the other room". He turned around. "Well, you could do that. Or you could join me". He turned around. "I never thought I would turn a woman down on such an offer". I frowned. "It's not that I don't want to go in there. I mean several parts of my body want me to. It's just my heart isn't one of them. My heart keeps telling me to wait. Atleast when we're not drunk". He smiled. "I want things to be special. We have all the time in the world, Lana. I really want to take it slow". I could tell he was surprised by his words. I was too. At first anyway. Then I realized that he wanted to savor our relationship. I want that too. This was definitely something special. The most special relationship I had ever had, or ever will have. Joey turned around and went back into the larger space. I closed the door, then took off my towel. I walked into the shower and finished up.
