Half an hour later, J pulled into the hospital parking lot. "They must be in the maternity ward, right?" Dee asked as she exited the car. Everybody else hopped out and they walked towards the large hospital. "They should be. Annabelle just gave birth." J answered. "I know she just gave birth, stupid." "Don’t call me stupid." "Don’t act stupid, dumbass." "Don’t call me a dumbass." "Don’t act like a dumbass..." "Guys..." Jeff said in a warning tone. "Please, stop it." "Make me." J said. Dee moved in front of Jeff. "If I can’t act like a moron, then neither can you." "But Diedre.." "But nothing." "Fine. But I’m going to make J when you’re not around." Dee rolled her eyes at her boyfriend. "Men can be so immature," Vicky said as she started to walk beside Dee. "I know. It’s so pathetic." Dee agreed. "I hate it when chicks talk about us when we’re right there." J mumbled. Jeff simply nodded. A few minutes later the group made their way into Annabelle’s hospital room. "Oh, look at the baby!" Vicky squealed. J raised an eyebrow. That was perhaps the most feminine thing he had ever seen her do. The group walked to Annabelle’s bedside. "Where’s Drew?" Jeff asked. "He just stormed out of here like twenty minutes ago." Annabelle replied. "You guys aren’t fighting, are you?" Dee asked in a worried tone. "It’s alright. It isn’t your problem." "So...we need some information here. Gender, weight, height, name," Vicky said quickly. "Well...he’s a boy. I’ve named him Tyler James Smith. He weighs eight pounds, nine ounces and he’s twenty inches tall." "He’s so little." Vicky gushed. "So...uh, you gave him your last name." Jeff said. "Yes, I did." "I thought you’d give him Drew’s last name. Whole name for that matter. But you guys are gonna get married anyway." "That hasn’t actually been decided." "What?!" "Look, Drew and I have been having some problems the last month or so. We’ve been really secretive about it until recently. I’m not so sure there’s gonna be a wedding." Everyone in the rooms mouths hung agape. This was really unexpected. Then Drew walked in. "Hey, guys." He greeted. The open mouthed gang turned and faced him. "What’s going on?" "Annabelle just told us she didn’t think there was going to be a wedding." J answered. "What?!" "Look, all I said was I wasn’t so sure alright," Annabelle said. "You’re not sure, Anna? You’re not sure?!" "Calm down, Drew." "Anna, I love you. I have always loved you and I want to marry you. I am absolutely positive about that. How can you doubt us?" "Guys, can I have a moment alone with Drew?" "Sure, Annabelle." Dee answered for the group. Then they went to the hall, closing the door behind them. "Come here." Annabelle said while patting the bed. Drew sat down next to her. Annabelle took Drew’s hand. "I love you, Drewy. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You’re my lover and my best friend and our relationship is perfect. I just...I’m not ready for this. I’m only nineteen. I can’t be a wife and a mother and be on the road with you all the time. But I don’t want to be selfish either. So, I’m setting you free. I’m relieving you from your position as husband and father, so you can be happy as a musician." "Anna..." "Don’t interrupt...please, Drew. Let me finish." Drew nodded. "When you guys go off on tour in a month I’m gonna move out. That way you’ll never have to see Tyler and me again, and you’ll be able to meet a nice girl without all this baggage." "Don’t you get it, Anna? All I’ve ever wanted was you. And I want to be there for you and Tyler." "Drew, I can’t do this, alright? Please, just leave." "Annabelle." "Go, Drew!" "But I don’t want to." "Get out!" "No. You can’t mean this." "Get the hell out, Drew!" Annabelle checked a teddy bear at Drew. He ducked out of the way. Then he walked to the door. Before going through the doorway, he turned around and got hit in the face by a teddy bear. "Goodbye, Anna." Drew whispered as he left. TO BE CONTINUED...
