| This week was one of the best Ive seen in what seems like a very, VERY long time. Rafe finally broke through Pod Rafe (As Melody calls him lol!) On Tuesday when he told Livvie to Shut the Hell up! I started to sing that song from The Wizard of OZ, Ding Dong the witch is dead Ok so Livvie didnt die but her lies finally catch up to herHA!! LOSER!! All right, all right she did shot Rafein the back no less. That was so cowardly, but great TV. And Im on the edge of my seat waiting for next week and the end of Torn. We all know by now that Alison will try to leave Port Charles and Rafe will stop her at the train station. As someone that loves old movies, Ive been dying to see PCs version of the 1940s classic ending. From the moment I saw the spoilers that said the end of Torn had that kind of feel, Ive replayed in my mind the hundreds of movies from that era that Ive seen since I was 2. The one that keeps coming back to me is a wartime film called Since You Went Away. Its an amazing movie and very emotional. The train scene in that movie had a very young soldier leaving for war and the girl he leaves behind is running after the train as she says her goodbyes. The comedy Airplane, from the 70s, did a verse of that scene (Very very funny!) Ok, enough of my geek-like knowledge of old movies. All Im really saying is its going to be GREAT!! I do have a bigger point or concern in all of this and that iswhat next? In the old movies (And cartoons for that matter) it ALWAYS ends Happily ever after, but is that realistic for a Soap? I dont think so. There needs to be turmoil, intrigue, turbulence in a storyline or the ratings will take a nose-dive. We all know what can happen it the ratings nose-dive. So whats up next for Rali? Here are some possible scenarios that I've come up with: The first is that they do have the happily ever after they so deserve, with no problems (Oh, wed all just love that!)But that would mean the same thing day after day and I would love that but there are people out there that would getr sick of that ( I know it's hard to believe.) If they do that then I'm guessing a lot less airtime for Rali. Thats not gonna happen because Rali is too popular. The second is with this band that comes to town. The spoilers say that the town is memorized. Ok so Alison becomes a groupie, which leaves little time for Rafe. Rafe gets increasing jealous, especially when it turns out that one of the band members looks exactly like the vampire that killed him. Huh...maybe? The third is Alisons mother. She could drive a wedge between the happy couplewho knows? Anything is possible when it comes to PC, right? What Im saying is that the up hill climb that Rafe and Alison have endured for the past 6 months might not end with Torn. But I can tell you thisIll be watching the first week of Naked Eyes with great anticipation (Fyi- there should be a long over-due bed scene) You know what Im talking about *g*. Thanks for listening!! |
