| The Mazda RX-7 and RX-8 are both powered by a rotary engine; the RX-7's turbocharged Wankel rotary produces around 280bhp, and the RX-8's normally aspirated RENESIS rotary still produces around 250bhp thanks to a new intake/exhaust layout. The RENESIS engine is smaller than the Wankel turbo engine so it can be set closer to the car's center of gravity improving weight distribution and handling. The RX-7 is a true sports car in every sense of the term. The RX-8 has a lot to live up to if it wants to be accepted by RX-7 enthusiasts. |
