| Ratings Graphics (# out of 5) This represents the looks of the game, what you see. Not really important to me since I look at the game itself not its looks, but some people might see this as important. Play Control (# ou of 10) This represents how well you can control your avatar(s) in the game. Games with no avatars have a rating of 1 out of 10 automatically. Interface (# out of 10) How practicle and useful the interface is. How well you can browse through menues and how easily accessible things are in the game. Fun (# out of 10) How fun the game is. How entertained you are while playing this game. Depth (# out of 15) How deep and lengthy the game is. Includes background story of items, characters, places, events, etc. Story (# out of 10) Represents the story of the game. If the story is good, how credible it is, if it is enthralling, etc. Does not include the interpretation of the characters by the voice-actors though. Idea (# out of 5) If the idea of the game is orignal, new, a good one, if it has potential to make a great game, etc. The rating does not include its interpretation in the game though. Non-linearity (# out of 15) How linear the game is, the amount of choices that can affect the storyline, open endedness, etc. The higher the rating the more choices you have in the storyline to affect it. Example: A Final Fantasy game has a Non-linearity value of 1 since you basically have no choice at all in the course of the story and must follow it, while Arcanum has a rating of 12 out of 15 since it is open ended and your choices affect the ending of the game. Interpretation (# out of 15) How well the idea for the game is interpreted in the game. How well the voice-actors interprets the characters in the game. Completion (# out of 5) How complete the game was at launch, how buggy it was, etc. The higher the less buggy and more complete the game was. Also, expansions to a game sold seperately or downloadable reduces this rating. Total is out of 100 A game with a total rating of 20 or less = Never buy nor rent this game, throw it in the garbage before someone sees you have it, boycott the game, it is an insult to our intelligence!!! 21 to 40 = You could rent, but puh-lease do not buy, it is an insult to our intelligence! Get rid of it as soon as you have finished it or get tired of it. This range is the average console games. 41 to 60 = Decent game, could buy if you like the genre, certainly a rent. Average PC games since year 2000. 61 to 80 = Good game, a must rent. You could buy it if you like the genre. Average PC games of the 1990s. 81 to 90 = Excellent game. A must buy if you like the genre. 91 - 100 = Awesome game. A must buy for anyone, even if you do not like the game... you must keep the precious, the precious is important. Very rare games fall into this category. |
