COMBAT TRICORDER
The Combat Tricorder (CT) is a variant of the Starfleet scientific Tricorder with several additions and ommisions. Where the standard tricorder is capable of providing scientific analysis and extensive sensor readings, the combat tricorder is designed to assist troops in the field during combatsits.
It has four basic modes:
- Scan: actively scans for energy signatures, lifesigns, and weapon systems and creates a map of the surroundings. This takes several minutes to be completely accurate.
- Motion: Detects motion only.
- Target: Acts as a scope when mounted on a weapon, effectively increasing accuracy.
- Disrupt: Acts as a low-level dampening feild, masking the user's lifesigns and heat signatures.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Range: The CT has a greater range than that of the standard Starfleet issue, capable of establishing maps and taking readings up to two kilometers away.
- Mapping: The CT is capable of creating a wireframe map with labeled energy sources, lifesigns, and landmarks. It is also capable of recording it's path, and therefore showing where the user has already been and how to backtrack, if neccessary.
- Weapon Mount: The CT is built with a mount on its side that allows it to be fixed to the stock of most Marine issue weapons, particularly the M-75 and PR-209, giving it hands-free viewing ability. When mounted, it can also act as a targeting assistant.
- Motion Detection: The CT is capable of detecting motion, whether or not it is associated with life signs.
- Sensor Jamming: The CT can disrupt enemy scanners by producing a low-level dampening field.
INTRAPERSONAL SUB-AUDIO COMMUNICATIONS MODULE
The SACMod is a communications device designed to assist with communications during combatsits where ambiant sound can interfere with hearing a message or where utmost silence is required. Instead of producing sound, the SACMod is implanted within the inner ear and stimulates the bones directly. This results in preventing any form of eavesdropping from hearing the messages. This is strictly a recieving function. Transmission must be vocal and is not protected by the muting effect.
