APACHOK NOR TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Apachok Nor Schematic Apachok Nor is a first generation starbase located strategically in Cardassian space, near the Badlands and Bajoran space, on the edge of a system called Chin'taka. The Federation is a short flight across the DMZ. Similar to Terok Nor (Deep Space Nine), but three times as big, it has a total of 150 decks. It is used as a defense station.

Apachok Nor was recently captured from Dominion/Cardassian forces during the Federation/Klingon/Romulan invasion of the Chin'taka system -- the allies first successful attempt to gain a foothold in Dominion space. The station was battered, its shields drained, and it was boarded. The Dominion attempted to destroy the station via a self-destruct mechanism, but it was successfully overridden by a Tal Shiar agent who was part of the Romulan boarding party. A purge of the station's computer core and all backups was successful, however, so the allies were unable to obtain any useful data.

Once occupied by the allies, a joint administration of the starbase by the Federation, Klingons and Romulans was decided. Also, it was determined the station would be a staging area not only for future attacks into Dominion space, but also as a launch point for clandestine special operations -- therefore, covert operations forces from each of the three governments involved will administer the station. The controlling entities are Starfleet's Shadow Operations special forces/covert ops group, Klingon Imperial Intelligence and the Romulan Tal Shiar.

Overall Station Specs:

Central Ring:

The central ring consists of 3 sub-rings. The central ring contains several decks which are divided into cargo bays, shuttle bays, detention area's, medical labs, research labs and holodecks.

The interior of the central ring forms the Promenade with several mess halls, restaurants, shops, holosuites, and bars. The Promenade is designed to give crews on shore leave a variety of entertainments to relieve the stress of their missions.

On top of the Promenade is the subspace booster relay ring (SBRR) for sending subspace messages. Below the Promenade is the second SBRR. This one is for receiving subspace messages. Under this is Engineering and the Main Reactor System. The SBRR's are also equipped with phaser banks and torpedo launchers

The upper and lower subrings contain phaser and sensor arrays and maintenance tubes as well as a few small cargo bays.

There are six Main Docking Pylons. Each Docking Pylon can dock one vessel. There are several smaller docking pylons for smaller vessels.

OPS is oval in shape, similar to Terok Nor. The Command Cell (Ready Room) sits at a higher level than the main OPS floor and is accessible via a set of three stairs. Twin doors open into the Commander's private office. To either side of the Command Cell is a smaller cell, one step up from the OPS floor. These cells are offices for the new alliance administrators. The Federation representative occupies the main cell, while the Klingon representative is to the right and the Romulan is to the left.

The Observation Lounge is behind the Command Cell, and finds it's entrances aside the Cells of the Klingon and Romulan officials. At the center of the OPS floor is a oval console. It is from this console that OPS, Tactical and the Strategic Officers work. Directly across from the Command Cell is the oval viewscreen. Windows, set high give a view of the vastness of space beyond Apachok Nor.
