Essential question: What characteristics influence culture?
Danielle Spencer:  People dress in different ways.
John Tyler Durr:  In Egypt you can only see a woman's eyes.  Her face is covered.  In Japan they don't do that you can see a woman's entire face.
RT:  In some countries men are married to many wives.  Cultures change over time.
NJ:  Some houses have pointed rooves others have flat rooves.
Leeann McGeorge:  There are many different types of music...jazz, opera, hiphop, rap, heavy metal, rock, and country.
Patrick Sheppard:  Some people eat octupus.
Dominique Wilson:  Some people are the same like twins.
EH:  Poetry is writing about people, places, and culture.
MD:  Different countries make different products.  Some products we learned from India are sheep, cattle, water buffalo, and sugar cane.

Essential question:  What are some changes that happen in a community over time?
Marvin Wilson:  In the olden days people used to travel in buggies.
Cameron Napier:  Now we have planes and cars instead of buggies.
JT:  People had no airplanes.
Cory Williams:  Schools used to have one room.  Now there are many classrooms plus music, art, and library rooms.
Emmalee McCurdy:  People used to walk to school.  There were no buses.
Samantha May:  People used to dress differently.  Women would always were dresses.  Men would wear pants and a vest.

Essential question:  How do changes affect people and their environment?
RT:  A tornado or a flood can tear down houses.
NJ:  A tornado is hot and cold air mixed together.  Some people can die.  A tornado messes up your stuff.
Leeann McGeorge:  In a storm you could get injured and have to stay with relatives.
Cory Williams:  If there is a big storm, your power could go out.  You would need to use candles.  A big storm can also affect getting clean water, you would have to get it from the lake.
