Amsterdam, lovely Amsterdam!
Holland is where my maternal ancestors come from. My mother emigrated to Australia with her family when she was only five... Hi Mum!!

It wouldn't be Amsterdam unless a dude on a bike whizzed through your picture!!
Note that all bikes in Amsterdam are daggy old things with mudguards and one painful gear
Thats because if you had a shiny new bike, someone would steal it straight away!
Also as there are no hills in Holland, one gear is always enough!

The next day we farewelled our Contiki friends and travelled to Gert and Anne's house (my relatives) in Soest
Gert and Anne made us very welcome and very comfortable.
Thats a real thatched roof you can see there!
