Wife won't stop smoking.
Description
My wife has smoked a pack a day ever since I met her. She knew from the start I didn't like it and said she would try to stop. I think she tried once. In spit of the smoking, I continue to love her and we've been married 6 years. During that time, I've asked her repeatedly to stop smoking. Her reply each time, "Don't pressure me, I'll stop when I'm ready". It's becoming a real sore spot, especially since she's coughing more and more. I'm scared her health is being affected.
I know kicking the habit is not an easy thing to do but I'm baffled why she won't even try. There are so many things to help smokers quit these days. Could it be something I'm doing (or not doing) that keeps her lighting up? How can I find out? Has anyone else found this to be a struggle and overcome it after so many years of being together? ... sign me: Smoked-Out
