I drove into the park, explaining I was a reporter for a high profile internet travel magazine wanting to do a pre-visit photo lay out of the park for an upcoming article on the wonderful parks of the Pat Harrison System and could I please be excused from paying the two dollars. She said if I'd just shut up I could. I thanked her. She thanked me.
As I remembered, it is a pretty park with a labyrinth of camping roads. Many of the camping sites are on the water, my favorite. Many people were Mardi Grasing here. To each his/her own parade.
A resident of the area had preserved a log cabin. Such a great gift to all.
I twisted and turned through the many roads, each changing their name when crossing major roads. I reached MS.589. I liked the number and decided to follow it into Sumrall. I thought I should take a picture. Many times I'll take a picture of a small town, not seeing a secret until I "develope" it . I'm still looking. I haven't started the research part of this thing yet. I'm sure Sumrall is an important place. I just have that feeling. Check back often.
